I got an e-mail forward today that I thought was amusing. It was some pro-religious e-mail that had a petition attached, or something like that. First off, I found out that the subject matter of the e-mail was false, go figure:rolleyes:. http://www.snopes.com/politics/religion/lincolncent.asp

LOL, how dare they leave out the words "in god we trust" on the new penny. How dare they take god out of schools, sporting events, yada...yada....yada. Religious people say their rights are being violated. But, what about those non-believers or those of a different faith? Wouldn't it be just the same way for them? Whatever happened to separation of church and state anyways? Just kinda amazes me I guess.

I've learned something today.....there is no happy middle ground. It either has to be one way or the other. Also, no matter which way it is, the other side will always bitch.

Hmmmm.... I think I will post that in the "what you learned today" thread.

I always laugh when I'm forwarded religious email.

And then I delete it without even reading it. :D

That was from Mother Teresa! How dare you delete it! But seriously, I believe I heard that the words "under God" in the pledge of allegiance were added in the early 50's.

I hate forwarded emails that aren't checked with snopes or truth or fiction first. It takes a measly 20seconds to see if it is true before you forward.

As for separation of church or state.....it was started to keep the state from controlling the church not the other way around.
