So out of curiosity do you set your alarm so that you get the most sleep possible and hop up when it is time to get up.

Or do you set it deliberately with enough time to snooze it a bit?

I used to set my alarm for 7:30am and I would wake up 5 to 10 minutes before it went off everyday. But now, I can't do that anymore, I have to keep hitting snooze.

I set mine for the time that I want to get up. I only sleep about 5 hours a day max though.

I set the alarms for about 1hr prior or more depending on what is going on that day.

My husband he would set it for 30 minutes before work started, but kept hitting snooze, then when it would be 10 til, he would rush downstairs, get dressed, and out the door. Majority of the times he would turn it off and be late! Then I started setting the cell phone alarms and placing them around the room, (never the same location) so he would have to get his lazy ass out of bed. Since then he has never been late!!

I have to be work by 8:00 so I set mine an hour beforehand. it buzzes and then I hit the snooze button about three times before I even get up or if my back kills me in the morning then I have to get up. otherwise, I'm a sleepyhead.

I am all about the snooze button! My husband gets up when the alarm goes off. I'm in awe of this ability...

I set mine for the time I need to get up so I get as much uninterrupted sleep as possible. It goes off and I hop up, turn it off and start my day.

Bah! I need my gradual wake up time to bring all the systems on-line. Some days the "all systems on-line" doesn't happen until I have been at work for an hr or so and had a cup or two of coffee.

I normally have mine set so that I can hit the snooze at least once before I get up.

Mine kicks off w/music @ 3AM, plays for about 3 minutes, then I shut it off and go turn on a small room light and climb back into bed 'til 3:25, then I'll get up and do the mad rush. Works for me.

My clock is set ahead, and the alarm is set behind.

My husband is the type of person who sets his alarm for the time he needs to get up. When it goes off he is up and ready to start his day. I on the other hand have to set 3 different alarms for 3 different times (lets say I have to be up at 6, I have one set for the time I want to get up, the time I should get up, and the time I REALLY need to get up. Depending on how I feel depends on what alarm I get up to. The bad part is, sometimes when I'm really tired. I turn alarms off and don't remember them going off. I missed taking my pets to the vet because of this. They where a little upset and my reason and I could not get my pets in for another week. Because I have this problem my husband makes me set the TV Alarm, 2 Phone Alarms, and the normal alarm clock. Because sometimes I will shut them off before he hears them (yes I'm that fast) and then he wake up late for work. But I'm doing better, I use to sleep until noon then I got married to a man who is up at 5am EVERYDAY. Now 8:00am is sleeping in. How sad is that? But I love him so I'm willing to work with it :)

The other funny thing is he can not get out of bed without me waking up. I can't sleep without him. If I feel him get our of bed I'm wide eyed and bushy tallied. Even if he wakes up at 3am cuz he cant sleep. It drives me crazy that I can't get back to sleep.

Reanimating this thread!

My alarm is set for at least half an hour before I have to be up. I'm a snooze addict (or a sleep addict in general). My husband can wake up on the first alarm.

I've snoozed it for like an hour and a half before. Not just once either. :D

And yeah...I'm fast on the snooze too. My alarm clock makes this slight ticking noise before it goes off. I can usually snooze it before the actual beeping starts or right at the first one. :D Weird cause I'm usually a heavy sleeper but that little teeny tick...man. My body knows what's gonna happen I guess. XD Another thing that wakes me up even though a marching band (or Bowser and Kumori terrorizing my house by tearing through it or yowling for that matter--which wakes my husband up like every night) wouldn't is the door opening. I guess I'm just tuned for when he gets home too. :)

I don't use alarms. I always wake up around 6AM.

i set 2 regular alarm closck and my cell phone to go off within a minute or 2 of eachother and that way i have to walk around the room...this usually wakes me up enough then i take an hour to get ready and eat my cereal and all that. then i leave 30 minutes before i have to be at work.

If it weren't for my wife, I would never make it to work on time. When she's not home, I have a tendancy to sleep in till 1pm or later... I just enjoy sleep once I'm finally asleep.

Especially when you're dreaming about naked wimmen. Hate that when the alarm goes off right before you get some...

I've been married to my alarm clock for almost 20 years. She always wakes up at six AM, and expects me to do the same. :crying:

Only day in the year when I get up late is my birthday. love those extra minutes of almost getting back to sleep.:crying:

I am not a snooze button user. If my alarm goes off, I am up. When my husband and I were first together, I still went to school and he worked so we got up at the exact time. Later on in life, I would get up at 4am to be at the barn and he wouldn't leave until about 7:30am. He was late for work several times since he A) Hit the snooze button too many times or B) Got up but then laid or sat back down in the living room and fell back asleep.

Now, he wakes up before I do, turns off his alarm and most often I sleep through what he needs to do. If I need to set the alarm for any earlier than the baby wakes up, I set it 15 minutes early. It may take me a while to drag my butt out of bed when the alarm goes off but I do not fall back asleep and when my feet hit the ground, I am moving.

When my husband is gone, it is the best friggin' sleep I ever get! Honestly.

That is funny!! Made me laugh anyways.

I now have to set my cell phone alarm cause if I set the real alarm- Boost will snooze it before I even hear it.

I set my alarm for exactly the time I need to get up, it goes off & I am up and turning it off before it cycles thru its first beep cycle.

Boost is to the point now that he has to set both alarms on the clock cause he will snooze the first one so long it stops, in which he has the 2nd one as back-up set for when the first one stops going off.
To me that is just crazy. How do you keep going to sleep after that??
