We liked a few of the shops at the "outlet" mall

Ashibina is Okinawa's first ever outlet mall, with 70 world brands gathered in one location. On the ground floor, maker directly-managed shops and legitimate branches are standing next to each, offering goods at 30-80% of their regular price. On the second floor, the food corner gourmet zone has 6 restaurants and a 600-seat capacity. Within the facility, attendees give information to visitors regarding the amenities and shops.

Have you tried the big (San-A?) mall in Naha near the ToysR'Us? I've been there a couple times and really liked the selections.

P.S. Good to see you around again, Z!

there are many places to buy clothes here, but then it also depends on what kind of clothes you like.

There are many San A's here and Jusco's - You can always find some kind of good deal at one of them. The payday sales are always good to look at. DFS - is spendy, but some people like the brand name and think money falls from the sky!

I know my wife and I...well...mainly her, do most of our shopping for clothes online. Of course this would just be a way to go if you didn't need the clothes immediately.

I have been successful at finding bigger size clothes. I'm not a pole and I get discouraged trying to find things at the BX. When I do find something I like, their are like a dozen other people wearing the same thing. Got to looking around off base and found some plus size stores. There plus size is average size for us American gals. However, their pants are too short for me.

The outlet mall can be very expensive, it is mostly name brand items that are sold, even at a discount are expensive. There is also Mitsukoshi, and Palette Kumoji on Kokusai street plus OPA very close to Mitsukoshi on Kokusai as well.

That is very true...I don't even shop there, when I can get better deals around town!

http://www.kokusaidori.org/ - Sorry its in Japanese. Scroll down to shop.

Located close to the Okinawa Prefectural Office building, Kokusai Street offers on its 1.6 kilometer long stretch plenty of souvenirs and fashion shops, restaurants and a multitude of other boutiques. The main avenue of Okinawa, it also houses many hotels. After the war, Naha City was quickly rebuilt and so was Kokusai Street, the international street, which at that time was also given the nickname "miracle mile". Still today, this area is a place for the latest trends and fashions.

My wife's Australian and she has trouble finding clothes here all the time. We have just been using Old Navy online and a couple others. Their shipping is normally pretty good like stated above. We've only had a couple times that it took 6 weeks.

I've been to Uni Qlo, and I love that store, but it was kinda small. I've heard that there is a bigger one..

There is a big-ish Uni Qlo in Ginowan (on the Ginowan Bypass road, the road Tropical beach is on). There is also one in Naha near Toys R Us but the Ginowan store is bigger IMO.

Plaza House has clothing lables in 'western' sizes, but they're kinda expensive and are not especially geared toward young fashion.

Haeberu Jusco has a nice range of independant clothing stores, kinda Japanese in style but wearable. It's worth the drive down there.
