How is it possible to NOT notice that a pregnant girl is pregnant?!

This just boggles my mind. How do you NOT notice that your daughter is pregnant when she's about to burst?! This isn't the first time I've heard of this. But my wife was pregnant most of last year and I tell you, it was easily noticeable. From the behavioral changes to the nausea to the BIG FREAKING BELLY to the increase in breast size.... how do you not notice something like this?!

Not even family members noticed. Was the girl a blimp and they simply couldn't tell the difference?! I'm just dumbfounded. How?!

Feel free to discuss this story, but I really want to know that this is actually possible to miss. Especially for family. This sounds more like negligence than anything to me.

And to drown your own infant... Didn't they notice that the girl might have some emotional issues? PERHAPS CAUSED BY THE PREGNANCY? Or am I just totally missing the boat on this one?

As for the "noticing" part, I would say it is a safe bet that this girl is quite obese, and that can surely hide the physical form of pregnancy. Though, I am speculating on this particular case with that.

But what's worse is how UNinvolved are these family members that they did not notice the other differences, forgetting the prego belly.

My Mom was thin prior to her pregnancies with my brother and I and still barely showed. Some people have large enough pelvic cavities to cover most of it.

Our friends neighbor had a 3mth bump when she was NINE MONTHS pregnant (UNBELIEVABLE!!!!) I could only DREAM!!! LOL I looked like I was smuggling a basketball out of the store!

We had a friend who was rather large and you couldn't tell she was pregnant.

So as amazing as it sounds to not notice, it can occassionally happen!

But what's worse is how UNinvolved are these family members that they did not notice the other differences, forgetting the prego belly.

I haven't SAID it to a person but I have wondered. Had a friend ask a gal when she was due and her "baby" was already TWO! *insert foot!*

A friend of my wife was 8 months pregnant once I met her. She was a skinny girl and it looked like she just had a little gut. I wouldn't have noticed she was pregnant if it wasn't for my wife.

just a question when my wife was pregnant she could feel the contractions all the time wouldnt that be a dead giveaway even if you are obese and dont notice you you are eating for two

I don't think the question was whether or not the girl knew she was pregnant. She probably did. But she probably had issues about telling anyone.
