I sent an E-mail to the AAFES manager at the Foster Shoppette. I'm trying to get us some IPA on the shelf there. He said he would try but it would likely be a few months before we see anything.

Let's keep our fingers crossed and if it shows up let's get in there and get it quick so they know how popular it would be and beneficial to keep in stock regularly (just post here as soon as you see it, after PMing me to let me know it arrived).

Even if you don't know IPA, buy some and try it with a nice meal. I think you'll be pleased.

I also requested some Sierra Nevada.

In case he's on here let's also show our support for our beloved IPA and/or Sierra Nevada Pale Ale in this thread.

¥1,000 a pint is getting old quick and it's our only current option (that I'm aware of) :crying:.

We must stand and fight..

I wonder how/why they never had Patron prior to a couple years ago and then it suddenly became a regular item.

IPA's a popular beer, there's gotta be some Col. or someone that likes it..??..or do they all drink Budweiser??

I don't think I've had this beer before. I like beer but I'm a beer simpleton. I don't know much besides the Corona, Guniess, Heineken, Orion etc etc.

As far as with a nice meal I'll give it a shot. Truth is I love alcohol and beer but hate drinking with a meal. I love beer and alcohol alone or with cigarettes. But prefer soda or juice with meals.

Anyhow I just went off track so I'll bring it back.

I will try IPA asap and give my review. I do support you in you're quest. I think it's a great thing you are doing getting other beers here and bringing more variety and enjoyment from AAFES. Good luck.

FYI Jazz, there is a local cafe I go to, that is looking to add more speciality beers to its drink menu, and one of the beers I suggested was IPA, so if they start selling it, I will let you know.

Please do, thanks.

They began asking about it last month, so if they decide on it,compensating on Japanese time,it will be atleast 6 months before they do however.

Not quite IPA but damn close and IMHO the best Japanese beer ever brewed, Yona Yona Pale Ale. I just bought every can they had at Lawson in Nakanishi, Urasoe (down the street from Kinser gate 1). I hope they restock! But for now I'm happy.

There's a lot of Lawson's that have it on Okinawa...I think your supply is safe.

Really?? I checked like 3 different ones on my way there today. It's the only place I've ever seen it available in Okinawa, other than on tap at I's bar for 1,000 yen a pint.

Okay...going on "Lawson Tour 2010" right now...will document every Lawson on Okinawa that has said beer...will taste test every can. Who's driving me?

Not me, I'm sipping on a Yona Yona. But have you seriously seen it all over? Chattan?
