Looks neat, but what in particular do you find interesting? That doesn't make me want to spend an hour looking at their videos...

They have a laundry list of things to fix the world we live in.

Example, Stretch a hose into the sky that sprays small amounts of sulfer dioxide into the atmosphere. This will bring the Earth's tempurature down to pre-industrial levels.

They make all kinds of amazing inventions.

They have another badass idea, putting plastic tubes in the water and cooling it. This will stop hurricaines or keep them under control.

If only I had the capital I would so invest in some stock if that's possible in this company. This company is the future.

I see no real inventions, just brainstorming, and lots of time animating on the computer.

If you want to invest money in something real, but ultimately useless, go to this guys website..

I like what this guy is doing, but log splitter technology can only get you so far. I saw the machine "walking" for the first time, but by walking, I mean slumping to the side, and scaring the owner.

I think it runs on LINUX as well! j/k

Even Linus likes Windows 7 better. :D

Is there anyone here using LINUX?

I use it as a CNC controller, since it doesn't do any "housekeeping" unless you tell to, and a little more stable for my uses.

Do the LINUX users consider it more stable, and do you have compatibility issues?

Just looking to d/l TV shows and post on JU.

more or less as stable than any other OS, it really all depends how you want to use it. basic usage shouldnt really stress it too much. hardware compatibility runs better with older hardware, which a good idea is to run a live cd first to see what is compatible before you wipe the hard drive. software is a bit of pain, synaptic package manager makes things a bit easier, but dependencies can be a real bitch. also if you have windows you absolutely need you could run it in WINE.

Thanks..

I re-format computer from time to time, and am pretty tired of Vista.

The Ubuntu install on my machining equipment went quickly, and I was impressed with LINUX.

The "company" seems to be at least one fat guy with a possible background in engineering trying to impress an eco-nut chick who is 10 years younger than he is.

At least, thats how I got married.

Linux is great, its free and you can actually plug shit into your computer and have it work without having to search for or load drivers, wow. If you are a die-hard windows user and love being pestered about every little detail, stick with Microsoft. Also, if you are someone who hates doing some leg work and occasionally getting things done via command line, don't bother with Linux. :) The only time I experienced problems with Linux was when I had it running on a decrepit 5 year old beat up desk top (so truth be told, it wasn't a problem with Linux but a problem with a failing hard drive). Windows, on the other hand, has been giving me shit since the mid 90's, very secure shit mind you. :D That's my take on it, anyways. :D

I run Linux on my machine. I did it just to see what linux was like and I love it! It is awesome, in the 9 months that I have been using it has not given me one problem. Also no need for an anti-virus, I don't even think they write viruses for the version I am using.

And best of all it is FREE!!! Everything is free! Open office is a little weird at 1st but you get used to it. And you can save everything as a .doc or .docx and also open them.

So yeah Linux rules, if you try it

http://erickogelschatz.files.wordpress.com/2009/05/linux_logo.jpgyou will love it!
