On Saturday we saw the 2nd part of Grindhouse, Planet Terror. It was pretty good. Lots of violence. A lady has a machine gun for a prosthetic leg.

I recommend it.

Of the two parts of Grindhouse, I would have to say Pt. 1 Death Proof was the better of the two. I guess I liked that one better due to the realism of it and that trademark Torrentino edgy dialogue. Planet Terror is more fantastical and is not dialogue driven.

But still, both are well worth the money seeing them on the big screen.

I like gore, blood and guts but even SAW was kinda disappointing, don't think I can force myself to watch a tarrantino flick:-|

SAW? Is that a movie title or an acronym? If the former, link please? -- so I can check out the write up.

You're kidding right??
SAW is that movie about people who find themselves locked in a room and usually they are chained up,then their captor discloses their secret or something they did in the past and they have to either cut off their are to survive or something along those lines.
They have three installments!

No. Never saw those flicks or even heard of them. Did they make it to theaters here off base in Japan? Some from the U.S. actually do not. I've been here pretty long.

Are they available at the vid stores off base?

Not sure if they made it to off base theaters since they were kind of gory!
Or maybe they released it under a different name.

Still!!!! It's the fact of the matter that you never heard of SAW... Since you never heard of that movie... you might want to check out the whole trilogy.

Sounds good. Will do, and check the vid stores next time I go to one, too.

I also am not familiar with what some have called, "Shawn of the Dead." Is that good, too? A comedy, I guess?

Shaun of the Dead is a great film. It's a strange mix of horror and comedy but it's well-executed and the production is solid.

Which story in Death Proof did you like best? I liked the 2nd one best. Loved that 2nd set of ladies and that car hood stunt was nerve racking.

i agree...the 1st one was too slow...the 2nd one was more action packed and, yes, the ladies were more charismatic...but jungle julia and butterfly were good to go.
