I just got on island and have been put in family housing on MCT. Me, my wife and son are currently in the process of trying to get a family pet and after lots of research we have decided on a German Sheppard.

As a child I owned two of those dogs and I know from experience that you get what you paid for or rather get what you put into looking for a right breeder.

We visited the local pet store next to American Village but have not yet seen a German Sheppard for sale.

My question is and hopefully someone can help me with that is there any reputable breeders of GSDs on island and if no how would I try to bring a dog from Germany or States? Is that even possible or am I stuck with what the pet store has?

Thanks for your help.

If you are a civilian, this thread may help you. (http://tinyurl.com/3ch6tr) I'm not sure how things differ for those in the military.

There is a word in the link that the forum doesnt allow, the automatic censor blocked it out, I had a problem once with a picture from a similarly named site.

Just type [url]http://www.f*u*c*k*e*d*gaijin.com[url] /forums/showthread.php?t=18432 [url]into your browser, just remember to remove the * in between the letters and you should be ok.

Also remember to remove the url in blocks as well.

Good luck. I waited a couple years to find my Mastiff (and he was free)! The JKC breeds just aren't large enough. They seem to breed them slightly smaller.
