G'day! Im thinking of getting myself a D-SLR before i head over to Japan, but then thought... heck they are made there. Should i wait, are the prices much cheaper there in Okinawa?

Same with LCD tv's, but you don't see a 42" running any less than $1500 whereas you can pick one up nowadays for around $800.

I've been to camera shops too and their prices are ridiculous. Pick one up before you come. :thumbup1:

I hardly buy stuff new here. Way to overpriced. Unless of course it is German made :D
Shop online first. Good deals on Yahoo! Auctions JP.

I just bought a Nikon D90 at Yamada-denki and the price was comparable to what I could find online. If I shopped around, I probably could have found the same kit for maybe $200 less, but I like the convenience of buying at a store and the ease of returning if it's defective.

Kitamura has decent prices on cameras and accessories too. I'm about to pick up a new tripod from there...so much cheaper than Yamada's tripods.
