Rocktoberfest 2009 on Torii Beach, Yomitan-son, Okinawa.

October 10th and 11th.

Two days of Okinawa's best Rock and Roll.

It is free and open to everyone on island !!

Hmm, I may end up going both days. I really liked All Japan Goith when I saw them at the Orion Beer Fest last year.

Last years was fun. I lost my sandals. I hope they have a larger selection of German Beer this year.

They had German beer last year? All I saw was Miller Lite:crying: Maybe I need to look around a bit more this year. Wife was preggo last year when we went so we didn't move too much.

They had one tent of "German" Beer. I don't remember what it was, but the dark beer they had was pretty tasty. But yeah, Miller was one of the sponsors for last years event. There was food also, but I was in more of a beer mood. I hope they have more German Food & Brew, but I think it's more about the tunes.

They also had Rocktoberfest Beer Mugs you could buy once, and then you could have them refilled with any beer.

Yep, I got one of those. I wish they had a glass version though, but plastic is probably a good idea...i can drop it and not have to worry about broken glass everywhere.

As long as the typhoon stays on it's current track, Rocktoberfest will still go on as scheduled.

weather looks fine for both days. Trouble with venders this year due to same weekend as naha tug of war. All the venders are going there. Army MWR will put out 20 tents for beer and food. enjoy!

I talked to a few of the people organizing Rocktoberfest, and they said that yes, there will be more German Beer & Food this year. I'll be there Saturday (working there) & Sunday (partying there).

Everything looks good for this weekend! Bring all your local friends, the gates are open to everyone on Island!! I'm headed down there today to check out the stage and help set up the lightshow.

Sweet Sunday is scheduled out we will be at the Poker Run at Kadena Marina at 1400 and then headed to Tori for further consumption - God I love Training Days :)

I just found out that the USO is bringing in some Gyoza specialist that will be making like 7 kinds of specialty gyoza at the Fest. It's not exactly German, but gyoza does taste good with beer.

I guess if you can make different types of gyoza, and have them all taste different, then you can do that job also. My wife's gyoza all taste the same lol.

I guess if you can make different types of gyoza, and have them all taste different, then you can do that job also. My wife's gyoza all taste the same lol.

There is an art to making gyoza believe it or not.

I remember watching this show on Japanese TV about a guy who owned a gyoza franchise in the Osaka area. Beer and gyoza were the only things on the menu. I so wanted to open a place like that in Okinawa. :)

That's joe, he runs the gym at tori. looks meaner than hell but a nice guy. He wife is a body builder also. She is a big lady! Joe when i first met him looked like the devil from the jack black movie!

Jacks Nasty's band (also known as Katchan Band )usually play at Jack Nasty's on Gate 2 St. The frontman for the band, Katchan, doesn't sing with them much anymore, but they still play at events and such.
