I know lots of JU members have iPhones, shit they are just about every where you turn. Don't want to turn this into a debate on whether or not the iphone sucks. Cuz for better or worse I am stuck with mine for the next 2 years.

What I do wanna know is - Has any of you has jailbroken their iphone yet? And if so how is it working out for you. I am particularly interested in being able to use the iphone as a modem for my net-book after it is jailbroken. Any insight or advice would be much appreciated!

I did it on my 3G but did not like the way it slowed it down. So I went back.

I have yet to try it on my 3G"S" but I downloaded and installed the new 3.1 OS last week and there hasn't been a jailbreak for it yet.

I have jail broken mine and it works well, a little slower but very good overall... Here is a good site, I used this one and it spells the steps out for you...

Have you tried Fring? I guess it's supposed to work like Skype but free maybe.

Will Skype work for you when in a Wi-fi area?
