I'm wondering the best place is to go to exchange $-2-Y.
My friends says stay away from the Community Bank ATM because there is an extra charge (what????)

I know CommBank is probably not the best value on some days but it is the most convient to go to. The closest exchange center is in Koza Music Town, but I hate burning 100Y just to park. And 99% of the time I need to go to the ATM to get $$ in the first place.

Also, I dont like using Visa because they WILL perform an exchange fee, that I think is a little too high for the few times I've used it in Japan.

Where do y'all go?

Community Bank is convenient and I think the charge is like $1.50 for non-members. There's a ton of them that have recently popped up in Chattan. I usually go to the one down the street from ETWS, towards 58.

I always go to the one on the first floor of Koza Music Town. You get a little ticket (validation?) so you don't have to pay the 100 yen for parking. Just ask them for it.

I use the YM one on 330 between Plaza House and Koza music town. The ones down in Mihama all smell like ass...

I use community bank ATMs. I have E-checking with Navy Fed and they rebate up to $10 per month for ATM fees.

Sometimes the off base ones will have a little better rate but it happens less frequently now.

I use the off base banks...their exchange rate is 1-2 yen higher than Community (so are the exchange places)...but if I only need Y5,000 then I just use the ATM.

Mcdonalds on 330 is pretty good to yen.

98 yesterday, just bring in a 100 or 50 dollar bill and by a cup of coffee.

Take a left out the Foster Spot gate, and on your right past the light is a exchange place that has always been higher than on base

Have they started taking the $50 and $100 bills again? Not just there but other places?
