View Full Version : Lets talk about OJ
The One

I know that everyone is tired of talking about OJ. But on Monday I couldn't break myself away from the T.V. because of it. What do you all think about this guy. Pretty crazy that this would happen the day of his book release right? Some guys just don't get it. If you get away with something? Stay out of the lime light. Go somewhere and bury yourself under a rock. I just don't get it.

There was an article in the paper today about it...one of Simpon's "friends"/accomplice stated that he thought the whole deal was a setup. I mean, why would the whole thing have been recorded right?

I don't know,... its a toss up if they're getting arrested for publicity or because they're incredibly stupid :)

That's what I told my dad. Cosmic karma rectifies human injustices. Heh. (So to speak. This is not a point to debate or argue. It's my opinion on this one incident and person. I didn't write it to cause controversy or get you people stirred up.) Dad lives in Vegas and says that it's difficult to get around town anywhere near the courthouse. It reminds me of the previous thread about random children of former celebrities getting in trouble and making the news for it.

I don't think O.J. needed any extra publicity to sell his book. The book had been discussed by various people in the media well before he was arrested and released on bail.
There is way too much trial by the media these days, perhaps especially for celebs. It is the media who is out to make a buck.
Not taking sides here but just posing a comment and question for everyone here.....
Do you think that it is possible for OJ to get a fair trial?
Considering that a large part of the population has to know about his aquittal on the murder charges, can an impartial jury be found anywhere in the US with jurors that do not have an opinion about OJ?

Short answer...No I don't!
Back to one of my questions above...
Does anyone understand why the whole thing was recorded? Doesn't that seem strange?

Why does anyone still care about OJ anyways?

It's the "Equirer" syndrome! It is good to see someone that had it all, fall so low. Makes people feel so much better about their own lives. Think about it. If the whole thing never happened with his wife, he would still be rich, probably working for ESPN doing games each week! Now he's in a cell, almost broke, and about to get a boyfriend!

Yeah.....but it's not really that important is it? Americans care too much about their celebrities IMO.

Who knows? If his life hadn't taken such a sharp turn, perhaps he would have run for Governor, or Senate, and eventually President...no telling what could have happened! (not saying that I really think OJ would have been President!):scared:

I agree. It just seems awfully "interesting" that the accomplice "HAPPENED" to record the incident. Wasn't the recorder the same guy who told him about it?
I really haven't been up & up on it, but I thought that was what I heard.
I did catch one clip with one of his supposed "friends" that was involved talking about OJ always havin to have his way, seemed like he had a chip on his shoulder for being a "friend"
Wouldn't be 100% surprised if it turned up it was all staged/set-up

I wouldnt doubt if it was set up. They are allowed to bring up the past trial if he pleads not guilty. Maybe that is what they wanted. Someone is trying to seek justice some how and setting him up to put him back on trial. News says if he is convicted it will lay him in jail for life.

Hope he does go to jail for life, he should have for killing his wife in the first place.

If it wasnt for the sloppiness of those investigating the case, he probably would of been proven guilty for the killing of his wife. Lot of the feasible evidence got thrown out because it was handled improperly.

That is the problem with the justice system. You could have some guy admit he killed someone and if he wasnt read his miranda rights he might actually be set free. To me, if something is obvious like DNA samples, they should be admitted, regardless of how they were acquired.
What I mean by all that is....say someone kills a guy. A cop breaks into the killers house, cuts a piece of skin from the killer and that skin proves through DNA that he is the killer. They couldnt convict him...that is stupid. (for all you liberals...Im not stating cops should be allowed to do this, just using an extreme example)

This is as sloppy as the murder case and I bet he won't do a day in jail. He will do some probation and fines but NO TIME.

oops he already did a couple days in jail.

Plus he did have Johnny Cochran too:rolleyes:

And a minority majority jury who believed the LA Police department was out to get a black man....

That's true too. Something sounds fishy in OJ's case here though.
I wonder why Jesse Jackson and Al Sharpton arent putting up a bitch fit about a black man getting shafted here in the case of OJ. They certainly seem to gravitate to high profile cases.
I don't even take them seriously.
They are already low on point IMO and getting involved with OJ would just sink them!
One can only hope!

not to take OJ's side cause I think he did it, but at that time the LA police dept was out to get a minority and oj's lawyers exploited that.
