This thread is intended to help out those of you who choose to do your own GOJ inspection, often wrongly called the "JCI" inspection. Feel free to ask questions or post tips for others on how to get through the inspection with the least amount of stress possible.

I'll start...
About a month out, put your car on the lift at the hobby shop and take a good look at all of your boots. Tie rod ends, ball joint, steering. Identify what is bad, and order your parts.

check your lugs and make sure they are not stripped or broken. That costs quite a bit of money to fix. While your at it check your tires for uneven wear and/or cracks, they'll fail you for that too.
Oh and this doesn't pertain to GOJ but you should change your oil once you first buy your car. I've done it ever since my buddy seized the engine of his roadrunner because he forgot to change the oil once he first got the car. Of course that didn't help my car from busting a cam seal because the previous owner thought he was fast and furious.

IT is a good idea to take it to the toyota over on 58 combined with Best Denki to have the under carriage pressure washed if you have serious leaks, or chunks of oil, tranny fluid, power steering fluid, Right before you go through the line. Also I found it the best time to do it when it is raining hehe they hate getting dripped on so they overlook things sometimes
