Good against so so teams...if Romo plays well against Chicago this week, then I'll be a believer!

I agree if they can get thru that D there pretty good. Chicago's QB is garbage though so all they need to do is outscore them.

I gotta say it is good to see them picking up a little!
Rough to watch them stink season after season all the while hoping it will get better.
Here's to hoping they keep it up!

Sorry to disagree here, I would love to see them stay in the pits like Detroit:dead:

Ehhh, you are free to disagree.

I live with a 'Texan' so I don't ever see him ditchin his team.

A friend and I were recently talking about how most of those Texans are brought up on football like a religion. :)

He might burn in hell if he ever even CONSIDERED another team to support ;)

I've been trying to learn football since high school. I have the basics down though; one guy throws or kicks the ball, another guy catches it and runs as far as he can before being jumped by other guys the size of elephants. I totally get the touch down and field goal thing. There's something about an invisible yellow line and downs of which they get four, but I still haven't figured it out. :D I'll cheer for the Cowboys, unless they're playing the 49ers. Otherwise, I cheer for the guy with the ball.

LOL I hear ya SoCal! There is a lot I don't get....well didn't get. Kinda needed an idiots guide to football when my kid started playing, slowly but surely gettin better with the rules.
Now if I can quit callin it a foul when someone breaks a rule. :D
I am forever slipping with that one.
Basketball I understand better, but I am finally starting to get a grasp on this football thing. (now that there is only 2 games left in our regular season, go figure)

I am a Texan, and yes, it can go to the extreme. HOwever, when I moved to Alabama, they were worse there than Texas. I guess because all they had was high school and College football. Same goes with basketball there.

I heard these places highschool football fields and stands are bigger than the schools?

Yeah, I grew up in NY/Wisconsin...wasnt really that big there, but Ive seen alot of places in Texas where you would drive through a town, see this HUGE field and think, damn what college is that.....it is some HS. California has some big ass stadiums as well, although I dont think they are as fanatical about it, they are just rich.

The 'boys pretty much handled the Bears D. That moves them up to #3 on my list...right behind the Colts, and Pats! Romo looks good though!

We'll see......it's still early and my guys are playing well, need a running game to go with the QB though.

We will see... Thur. Nov 29 @ Cowboys 8:15 p.m. ET

Let's see how the season goes and as the game gets closer let's say the 2nd week of November or so, care to make a wager?

GB looks good, but as you said there is no running game! Farve will not be able to continue on this pace without help! Funny how they got rid of Ahman Green last year and Gado, and now they need runners!

Fonze
09-25-2007, 11:09 PM
Well I dont think Farve is that old. Remember Rich Gannon was like 40 something when the raiders had those good couple of years leading up to that super bowl they got killed in.

DoctorP
09-25-2007, 11:11 PM
Still not as old as Vinny or Doug Flutie right?

Fonze
09-25-2007, 11:15 PM
Does vinny still play? I thought the browns cut him.

DoctorP
09-25-2007, 11:18 PM
no he doesn't...but my point was that he was older than Bret!

Yeah, they did alright Sunday night.

The analysts I have heard say Chicago has one of the best defenses and I thought the 'Boys did pretty well with it.

Grossman had a pretty rough night, I always enjoy reading body language during games, it was quite clear he wasn't too happy with himself/team.

Again- we are hoping the Cowboys keep it up.

Chicago's D took a hit after half time, loosing 4 starters. That didn't help at all. But that doesn't take away from what Romo and the offense was able to do.

Fonze
09-26-2007, 11:09 AM
On Grossman I think if he doesn't get something done in the 1st quarter of their next game he's on the bench.

It's already being reported that he will be benched for Sunday and that Griese will start at QB!

Man I feel bad for that Defense they work so hard and the offense can't get nothing going. And with those injuries who knows what in store for them.

Makes sense for now, but I dont think that Griese is the answer either. Chicago needs to find a more permanent solution.

Hey Doc how about merging these two threads.:D

I was really hoping that the Cowboys would have won today. I'm not a big fan of them, but I dislike the Pat's more. Shame. It was looking good til the 3rd quarter...I was watching the ESPN "live" scoreboard at work and was hopefully at first. Shame. Oh well. 5-1 isn't too bad. It was a miracle that they pulled of that 5-0 win with the way Romo was playing with that last game! Anywho...Go Raiders and Saints! :first:

Remember the game Oakland lost to the Pats in 2001 when Brady actually threw the ball but they called it a tuck. Oakland would've gone to the SB.

Yeah, instead they havent recovered yet...just think, if they would have won and gone to the Superbowl, they might have won 10 games since then....LOL.

Im not a raider hater, i just couldnt pass it up...too easy.

THEY'RE OVERRATTED...LOOK WHAT THE pats DID TO THEM

DoctorP
10-29-2007, 05:10 AM
I wouldn't call them over rated. They're one of the top 5 or 6 teams in the league this year. It took the Pats 4 quarters to beat them, Dallas was in that game until halfway through the third qtr!

Dallas' secondary is suspect...it was like that last year too...that is why Brady was able to break away on them. Dallas has to tighten up the secondary.

I was browsing the topics and knew I'd find one about my Boys!!! They are going to kill this season with mike jenkins and felix jones
