What did you do now, young man?! No, I don't want to hear it. Just wait until your dad comes home! I saw that! Get in your room now and think about what you've done. If you're lucky, you'll get dinner.

I heard that in this last month, there have been enough DUI and assault incidents on at least the Air Force side to piss off the guy who makes the rules. Unfortunately, the rest of us who do right will be punished for what those guys did wrong. Even with the curfew still in place for the AF, the brass will probably tighten the reins even more.

What else is new? Hasn't kadena always been number one in PACAF when it comes to things like DUIs, incidents, and even domestic disputes? Seems like nothing has changed to me, which IMO says that stricter curfews and regs are not the answer.
But of course, those officers who make the regs get paid quadruple what I do yet they can't seem to figure that one out now can they?

Last night they had a sobriety check point on 58, and one american was already apprehended when I went through. They made damn sure that every Y plate was stopped last night.

Bah, that's the same as every night down in Naha. Went though one after picking my wife up after a girls night out down in Naha. He was waving everyone though but as soon as the JP saw my Y plate he slammed his little stop sign down almost on top of my hood. Laughed at him and asked him to give my wife the breathalyzer as well just to see how drunk she was:D.
I don't think there was one weekend that went by when I was there in which someone on kadena got a DUI.

does anyone know the DUI stats between the USMC and Kadena?

Maybe Kadena should do as the Marines do. Only NCOs and above can get cars. Hahahahahaha

No, they try to treat airmen like adults in the Air Force, not children. But if you're going to compare numbers then you have to look at the total number of airmen on island vs the total number of marines. Then you have to find out if the total number of DUIs on island for air force also includes the dependents of air force personnel.
I googled "kadena DUI" and this is all I could find:D

how hard is it really to get a cab, diako, or walk??????? anyone who gets a DUI/DWI should be sent straight to the brig 2 yrs or 3months CCU , no questions asked.
If they started holding the individual accountable instead of the masses you would a big attitude shift through out the ranks

and they in turn still act like little kids....but this isnt only AF but all branches

Yes, there will always be those who act like kids and do stupid things like get DUIs. There is no amount of restrictions that will ever solve that problem.......it's a fact of life

no restriction needed, public humiliation, CCU stint, brig and take their money....... alot things you can do to encourage the idiots that haven been caught not to even do it. Nothing like seeing airman Joey jackass walkoing up the main strip of Kadena pick up trash with a sign on his back that says....."I got a DUI want to be like me?????-airman J Jackass formally know as SSGT"

Wonders what the DUI rate is for the American military personnel and their families is compared to the DUI rate for the non base people? Okinawa is famous for its place on top of the drunk driver list. Wonders why so many would commit this crime? I would put my money on the base people having a lower rate of driving intoxicated.

Thats the thing they won't tolerate it from us, and they shouldn't. As for okiniwans Im sure get away with it more. Can't really rant and rave too much for old Ojisan getting a DUI in his little yellow plate pickup truck.

Allow me to retort:smile4:,ok the miltary doesnt care about okinawan DUI's only those involving SOFA STATUS. Honestly the Okinawan Local Govt doesnt care, due to the fact the DUI/DWI is a big money maker....
Seriously if the Local Gov want to regulated DUI/DWI, how many clubs and other establishments that server alcohol to drivers without checking would be shut down? Its all about the $$$

F* that. A little daihatsu move will kill somebody's kid just as dead as a SOFA skyline. Old Ojisan falling drunk half sleeping at the wheel and drifting through a stoplight can get screwed like everybody else. DUI is a DUI.

And why try and make it out like its the AF that getting the DUI? We have Army and Navy as well as marines here also? AF is the only ones that have to be back on base by 12 GTFO! That is bullshit right there. Telling me I have to be back on base by 12 when everyone else has what a curfew of 1-2 am??

Changes, doesn't mean a lockdown though.
Hell, maybe that was one of the reasons for making new people live on base too.:scratchchin:
