Just saw a new Quentin Torentino flick -- Sukiyaki Western. Freakin awesome!

I think this will go down as a cult classic. Basically, a gunfighting western themed movie with all Japanese playing the parts and speaking English.

Rick dialogue and heavy action. Highly recommended if you get the time.

Yeah, Doug. It's out. But tonight may have been the one week prior debut (not sure). If so then you will be able to catch it from next Sat.

Another thing I thought was excellent was the color. I thought the color schemes were really sharp.

The thing is with Torentino (sp?) flicks, most people either like 'em, or hate 'em. I am a fan of his movie making because of the unique dialoge. As of yet, I don't think I have ever seen one I didn't like.

I want to see it...eventually. I also want to see that new evangelion movie that came out about a month ago. I think I'll have to wait until that one comes out on dvd, and in english.

So how was the english dialog?

Japanese accented. But that is what gave it a kind of sureal air to it.

Lots of famous Japanese in it.

Well, saw it and um... Eh at least the last 20 minutes or so were pretty good. Let's just say it had its ups and downs. Visually speaking I loved it.
Gun fight scenes were great!! Now what I had a problem with was the dialog. Even my wife was fairly disappointed in it. I remember there being a press conference with some of the cast and they were saying they hope this movie proves that Japanese can act in english too. More or less in response to the fact that usually Hong Kong/ Chinese actors/actresses get hired for "japanese" roles in movies instead of japanese.

After watching this movie I don't think they made their point very well in that aspect. In fact I think they added to the stereotype.
