Hello Forum, I've been doing research and I got this site and a lot has been a big help. I had a question though that I didn't see answered in my searches.

My wife is a Financial nut and she likes to have a plan for everything. We are an E-4 Navy couple (She is civilian) and we were wondering on average what extra pay they give to you over in Kadena. I currently have a 180 Sea Pay and we are struggling but making it in the states, just a lot of debt to income ration issues. We pay everything but we want to make sure we don't go in over our heads and what we should look out for.

And a small note, we have a bed frame, all the pictures I've seen for off base housing had "Special frames" for the floors it seems, is that because you can't have our stateside frames over there or these people just didn't bring them.

Thank you for any help in advance I appreciate it!

If you are having financial troubles, do not move off-base. On-base you have free utilities and free rent. Also, you may not have a choice in the matter since AF and USMC is making in bound families fill on-base housing before they offer any one off-base housing. I'm not sure what the Navy's stance on this may be but it's something to look into and contact your sponsor about.

As far as pay.... You should be able to look up the COLA and OHA rates online according to rank.
