19th Hole tacos

Disappointed to see the 19th Hole taco place outside Gate 2 kadena closed. First time I went there was in 1983.......... good late night food after running the streets in Koza. :thumbup:

When I got back 2 years ago, I too was sad to see 19th Hole closed. I remeber first going there back in 1986 and many times throughout the years. There are quite a few other ones around like Charlies, King and Tacos Ya in Sunabe...

You're right, but when i was living on kadena between marriages in the dorm it was very convienent to hit 19th hole on the way back to base. mama-san was cool too. King tacos is ok, the taco rice is pretty good.

An interesting tangent...

Most golfers in the West call the clubhouse bar the 19th hole. As in "Let's stop at the 19th hole for a few before we head home."

Most golfers in Asia use the same slang to refer to the the hookers they hire after the game. Heard it from a Japanese businessman. He did travel to their factory in China frequently, so he may have picked up the term there.

mama-san at 19th hole's husband was a golfer and had pictures of himself on the wall so maybe that's where he got the name of the place......
