Please share your mixed drinks recipes that you've invented or reinvented. Sure, we can google drink recipes, but the ones your friends invent, including variations of jungle hooch, are more fun... like the one we just talked about in the chatbox about jello shots in fruit rather than the other way around.
You thought you're a lush now, just you wait, buddy! :grin1:
Note: Non-alchoholic drink recipes also welcome. :D
I use wasabi in my Bloody Mary's. Not really groundbreaking, in fact I found many recipes after I started doing it that included wasabi.
Actually this recipe is good with wasabi substituted for the horseradish. Good w/ horseradish too but...

When I'm in the mood for something sweet, Awamori screwdrivers, better with those orange drinks like natchan or birelys than real OJ.

Not for taste as much as just wanting to get hammered but, little things I've discovered
Tequila & Pepsi: totally the tequila equivalent of Rum and Coke.
Vodka Red bull: If you use a Monster, Full Throttle, etc instead of Red Bull, you can use 2-3 times more vodka and not even taste a difference. The actual flavor of the Monster canbe a bit much for some. too sweet/ Semi syrupy, I find full throttle or some of the other ones to be much smoother.
DO NOT try useing Rip-IT. yuck. (Rember these? They were awesome on deployment but gross back in the states. The only places I've ever found rip-it mind you are Iraq and a single gas station in San Fran.)
The Ryukyurita at Sam's is good!

i've been doing research on infusing vodka, now i dont know much about awamori because i think it's nasty, but would there be any point in infusing it? would it make more tasty to drink?

pineapple vodka
one pineapple
one bottle of vodka (not cheep shit, distilled at least three times)
one airtight container (i found jars that seal at Nitori, they have them at BX but they are twice as expensive)
cut rind off pineapple and slice thin
stack slices in jar
fill with vodka to cover fruit
wait two weeks and enjoy
(i just started mine the other night i'll let you know how it is)
you can speed up the flavor process by sprinkling sugar on top of fruit but i chose to do it slowly.
you can also use almost anything, raspberries, lemons, cucumber, herbs, lime. stronger flavored things like citrus fruits can be ready in a few days to a week, periodically taste your vodka and remove fruit when it is to your liking. (Google is a great resource :thumbup1: )

We used to hand out raspberry vodka at Christmas to my lush family. I also had a cousin that would make homemade wine...:D Holidays were fun with dad's side of the family!

Polish Bloody Mary:
1 12oz. beer
Spicy V8 or V8 w/ wasabi/horseradish added to taste
Salt-rimmed Pilsner glass
Wobbly Watermelon: (kind of expensive to do here)
1 syringe set-up (IV kit if you can get one and are gowning your own melons)
Bottle of vodka or tequila (as much as the damn fruit can take in some cases. great way to get rid of cheap vodka or tequila)
*Infuse melon with "spirits" and let set for at least 2 days outside while growing or if picked, in fridge. Take care to eat before it possibly spoils. Can be done with pineapple as well.
Benedict Arnolds:
1/2 Ice tea
1/2 Lemonade
*Vodka or bourbon optional

you can get meat injectors in the commissary, it takes longer but you can inject your fruit 10cc's at a time.

Every year in April, we make a trip to Delaware to buy liquor (no tax). I buy a case of decent vodka to make schnapps. Recipe is simple, pour one bottle of vodka into a gallon jar, add enough sugar to taste (1-6 cups, depending on fruit) then add chopped fruit of whatever variety until the jar is full. Let stand in a cool dark place for at least 3 months. We do each variety as the fruit comes into season and is cheap or free to pick. I strain out the dregs and put each flavor into fifth bottles (use the empty vodka bottles) and put in the freezer for a couple hours before serving. Raspberry is by far the favorite.
Pineapple, papaya, and some other tropical fruits don't do well because of enzymes in the fruit that cause them to turn to mush no matter what.
My father-in-law puts some red seeds he has into awamori to infuse. Adds a different flavor, guess it's supposed to put hair on your chest or something. I like awamori on the rocks with a shot of shiquasa juice, really refreshing, almost like a G&T.

Take a long draw of the top of an Orion draft then pour a full can of black, vending machine coffee in. Sounds bad but it might suprise you.
Another Orion variation.
Pour in a shot of patron and stir. Comes out like a Corona double.
I've done coffee and awamori, not bad but this coffee-beer concoction you mention is intriguing.

Jagernog -- 6oz Eggnog + 2 oz Jagermeister (It tastes actually pretty good)
Vegas Bomb -- Equal parts Rum, Crown(or Suntory) and Peach Schnapps dropped in a rocks glass of Red Bull (Tastes kinda like Smarties) not really mine but it's so good I have to share it.
