Hello everybody,
We need your help choosing the look for the JapanUpdate forums. We administrators and moderators have chosen five skins for you to vote on. By doing so, you will be giving us your own input and making this a little more your own.
Please vote on the skin you like the best. We will be purchasing the top two. The #1 choice will be set as the default skin for this message board. The #2 choice will be available in our library of skins and you will be able to set your skin to it whenever you need a fresh new look for the forums.
For the record, this will be a weighted vote. Administrator votes (me) will be worth 3 points, Moderator votes will be worth 2 points, and member votes will be worth 1 point.
Please cast your vote on whichever skin you like the best. You may only vote once, so please choose carefully.
Thank you all for helping us with this. We're really looking forward to these forums growing and evolving, and this choice on the appropriate skin will play a big part of that.
This vote will go until July 2, 2007.

Scroll down to the bottom of the page. You will see a dropdown menu.
Click the dropdown menu and choose one of the above options.
Vote for the one you like the best.

Follow the instructions above.
By voting, you help us choose what the default color scheme and setup the forum will use. The one you see now is only temporary.

Hey dk, why couldn't you just make a drop down menu like the other site and users could pick whatever skin they like best?

That is the plan, but there will only be two choices (the two most popular from the poll!)

So can you give us any input thus far in how the polls are shaping up? Maybe the top 3 skins so far ?

LOL, Maybe I am partially red color blind, cause it took me a bit to notice the logout link as well.
Or maybe I need glasses or something, or perhaps I am just blonde. :)
Meh, this skin has a few color issues. The logout link is certainly not as easy to find as it should/could be. Or maybe you're just blonde. :D
Anyway, 2:30am. I'm up MUCH too late. Again. I can't seem to get sleepy lately! :( I'm gonna try to force myself to sleep.

the orange in the ogenzen choice is very bright. i think it's obnoxious. i like the subtle blues.

I think that is why I liked the ogenzen one, it's bright and not so boring. But at least if DK goes with the top two, then we should both get the one we like! :)
I'm actually only going with OnlyDev and ProWeb Fluid. This vote is just a front so it appears to outsiders who visit here for the first time that I actually take an interest in what the other members like and dislike. :D

Very true! The worst we can "do" is leave and he still has the reign and it doesn't effect him at all.
I was just noticing we are just a few days out from the end of the polling and out of 38 registared users only 14 have voted.
Nothing like major participation! ;)
I'm thinking about extending the vote another week...
What's really sad is the skin/theme I like is in third place! What in the world?!!

Well your vote weighs more than the rest.....so perhaps it will help push your pick further along? Or has that difference of points already been balanced in the equation?
I'm pretty sure even with the weighted vote mine's not going to win. It does put it at least in second place though. No big deal. :)
This poll will close on July 2. I just bumped it up one more week. Going to try to get a little more participation.
The final results are in. Hexcell is the winner.
With the weighted vote, since all three moderators voted on hexcell, hexcell came out with 9 votes.
Ogenzen came in second with 6 votes.
We will be purchasing these two skins this week and will have them integrated into the forums as soon as possible. For all of you who took the time to vote on this issue, our hats are off to you. Thanks so much.
We purchased the skins this afternoon. Hopefully we'll have authorization to download them soon. They should be up in the next 24 hours unless the sellers are already on their 4th of July holiday.
The new skins are up! :D We hope you all enjoy the new look. Thanks to all who participated in this poll.
