Just banal back and forth free-style talk on anything in this thread.

I`ll start:

Right now, I am eating Doritos with chopsticks. Dipping them in the salsa. Using chopsticks because I don't want to get the keyboard all funkie with orange Dorito fingers.

Have you ever used chopsticks to eat chips or popcorn?

Right now I'm killing Dark Yojimbo on Final Fantasy X over and over and over collecting Dark Matter and trying to get everybody Ribbon Armour. And jumping on the forums everytime that gets boring.

You guys are both geeks! But then it is 12am and I'm on the PC talking to you so what does that make me?

I thought I saw you say on another thread you had just recently kicked your 3 year online gaming addiction. Is this a relapse?

No, I kicked my three year ONLINE gaming addiction. It wasn't even an addiction, just a time-sink. If I didn't have single person games, I'd just be bored to death. A man needs SOME source of entertainment... lol.

TheNoNamedOne
06-11-2007, 12:51 AM

TheNoNamedOne

Lol George Orwell? hahaha

Yea, you know, 1984 -- "doublespeak." Making "addiction" into a "time-sink."

Quite clever if I do say so myself. <wink>

dk
06-11-2007, 02:38 AM
Lol it never was an addiction. :P It just isn't worth playing a mmorpg anymore when your online time is completely inconsistant and unpredictable from having a baby. :P You can't do anything at all on an online game (except solo, which you can do on a PS2) unless you have blocks of time you can commit yourself to. I don't have those blocks anymore.

And what is a leading republican, from the party of conservative values, doing by getting knocked up? Arnold acts like a democrat by flaunting a liberal idea i.e. his male pregnancy around in our living rooms.

TheNoNamedOne
06-11-2007, 12:39 PM
lol. That's why this is chit chat and banal.

Just thought shooting Arnold down here from Gay Marriage would keep that thread on topic a little more.

btw... I liked that movie, too. Saw it years ago.

dk
06-11-2007, 12:41 PM
Man, I hated that movie. Something about seeing Arnorld cry like a pregnant woman just about made me sick...

TheNoNamedOne
06-11-2007, 12:47 PM
But he WAS pregnant. That is what those pregnant surging hormones do to you when you're pregnant -- besides from making your teats lactate.

Man, I really have to stop procrastinating and get my taxes done. I should be doing them now, but keep coming up with excuses to put it off.

Think I'll go outside and rake the leaves in the yard.

TheNoNamedOne
06-11-2007, 02:50 PM
Just raked up some leaves in the yard. Have to go out. When I come back I'll rake up some more. Then I will eat dinner. And then perhaps do my taxes.

Worst? Your power supply could get fried. It is highly unlikely that it would happen, but it could. I've lived here 9 years (this time) and never turn off my computer during a thunderstorm, or a typhoon.

TheNoNamedOne
06-22-2007, 08:46 AM
Man, rainy season just ended and now it is HOT!

To make matters worse, my mother in-law has come to stay with us for a few days so I am letting her sleep in the bed with my wife and I am sleeping in the dog room on a cot. With her around, too, I can't walk around with shirt off or keep the bathroom door open when in there.

Love my mother in-law, but there is a routine I like to be in.

TheNoNamedOne
06-22-2007, 05:27 PM
Still hot! 5:13 p.m. now. It should get comfortable in another hour.

When it is this hot and humid, it seems like it is all I can do to just sit in front of the computer and read. Zapped of energy to post. But will do so in a few hours.

Probably when my wife gets back with the Corona.

dk
06-22-2007, 05:29 PM
I could really go for one of those coronas... Or a margarita.

It's too bright outside for me. Working in IT is turning me into a vampire. You'd laugh if you ever came into my office. We keep it DARK in here. So anytime I go outside I have to put my cool dude shades on. Even if it's just to run across the street to buy a pepsi.

But hey. TGIF!

Score! I looked in the very back of the refrig and found some old butter with an expiration date for next week. Not sure how long it's been there, but I am still inside the date limit.

Now I am eating saltine crackers with butter spread generously over them. Using chopsticks, of course -- you know, to keep my keyboard and mouse clean.

dk
06-23-2007, 02:18 AM
Why keep it clean when you're just gonna blow more cracker crumbs in between your keys?!

Oh we're going to a hukilau
A huki huki huki huki hukilau
Everybody loves the hukilau
Where the laulau is the kaukau at the lū`au

We throw our nets out into the sea
And all the `ama`ama come a-swimming to me
Oh, we're going to a hukilau
A huki huki huki hukilau

What a beautiful day for fishing
That old Hawaiian way
Where the hukilau nets are swishing
Down in old Lā`ie bay

This morning when I woke up in the dog room on the cot, one of my dogs in his kennel looked at me and barfed. I was hoping I could sleep later but that caused me to get up and tell my wife to clean it up.

And it is too hot to wear a shirt -- but the rain is cooling things off.

;)

Almost half of all non vulgar information does not NEED to be broadcasted, but there is no harm in it being so.

As for DrPs comment to NBTP; in the forum world, or in the many I have come across, it is frowned upon by admin and mods to announce departures when upset at the forum, because it is usually viewed as a kind of, "Hey everybody, not only me, but let's all leave." And that is viewed as an attack upon the membership base.

Like DrP's taking your ball and going home analogy.

A lot of people have tantrums on forums, and so long as they don't break the forum rules, mods and admin let them let off steam by doing so.

Announcing a leave, however, eventhough it does not break forum rules, and may be a tantrum, is still viewed as a kind of, "I'm leaving. Who's going with me?" And that just is not cool.

That is why it is not synonimous with stating a natural function in kiddie language.

I wasn't meaning they were synonymous, just sayin I didn't think takin a pee was necessarily pertinent information for the forums......but whatever, dude. Water under the bridge,
you already mentioned it, I was just slipping in my 2cents that I thought that was more info than we needed. As would it be if someone came in sharing about their regularity or some other "personal" issue.

My intention was not snippy, mean, or along any such line. I was just shaking my head and laughing that we really didn't NEED to know that.

Outta curiosity, is it actually 100% safe to use?
****why I ask****
We went to this event the other night and got this gift basket with coffee & mugs. The mus had warning stickers on the bottomed that stated they contained components known in the state of California to cause cancer & birth defects.

So explain to me why we are selling such items for daily in home use, if their use is known to cause cancer or birth defects?
(I understand cleaners and such have hazards but who suspects their cup?)

I would imagine it was prolly the paint used on the mug. and if thats the case then its a mug for decoration purpose only. Decorative plates are the same. you cannot eat in them, the paint is not healthy for you.

We are gonna use our "prize" cups for pen holders. Maybe even let the kids paint on them to spruce them up a little for a summer activity.

In Okinawa it's 90 degrees and 90 percent humidity, mostly sunny and winds out of the SW at 10knots. Actually, I am only guessing, but I can tell you it is great weather to be at the beach and not stuck behind a desk sucking up Air Con and wishing I was drinking pina coladas on a boat in the Keramas.

My wife just brought me an iced tea.

I wonder if American wives serve their husbands as well as most Japanese wives do? Just watching pop culture on U.S. TV shows, it appears not.

I still like it that when my wife and I go out (or even at home), she poors my drinks for me. That freaks my family out when we go back to the States. They are like, "WTF, the pitcher is right in front of him. He can poor it himself when his cup is half empty."

I moved this one hear because I thought general discussion was a more appropriate place to put this.

Hey TP, I know this is completely off topic but I have to say it anyway and I don't think it needs it's own thread.

Your quote as always bugged me. I know einstien became a vegetarian about a year before he died but there are a lot of fake einstien quotes out there (like the bee one). Well I was bored today so I decided to look it up. I found one site with some info on his quotes. Your quote is listed as unverifed at the bottom of the page.

http://www.ivu.org/history/northam20a/einstein.html

Not trying to bust your balls but you seem to always want to be right so I figured a misquote would damage your image.

As for japanese women taking care of there men better, I would have to agree. My wife is not as traditional as most but I still notice a huge difference then all of my ex girl friends before I met her. LOL but I usually pour drinks for her, she does it a few times but I'm usually quicker with the pitcher.

Now get her around other japanese people, and she becomes more traditional.

I had a buddy I knew who said the only reason he came to japan was to get a japanese wife because they know how to take care of their man!

Here is a longer verified Einstein quote which basically says the same thing:

Alice Calaprice, has released the latest edition of her collected and edited quotes by Albert Einstein entitled, "The New Quotable Einstein." Now there is a solid source for the quote, complete with a document number in the Einstein Archive.

"Although I have been prevented by outward circumstances from observing a strictly vegetarian diet, I have long been an adherent to the cause in principle. Besides agreeing with the aims of vegetarianism for aesthetic and moral reasons, it is my view that a vegetarian manner of living by its purely physical effect on the human temperament would most beneficially influence the lot of mankind." Translation of letter to Hermann Huth, December 27, 1930. Einstein Archive 46-756

Sure, it [the quote in my sig] doesn't say the EXACT same thing, but the sentiment in this quote is such that it is not unreasonable to accept that Einstein had said that which is in my quote. His other quotes on vegetarianism in regards to health and morals also points to that. In addition, Einstein was a friend and great admirer of Ghandi who held that he did not view the life of the lamb any less than that of man.

I prefer the Einstein quote I have just for the sake of brevity. If you want to consider it as a paraphrase of his thoughts and sentiments on vegetarianism, then please do so. Though, recently I have been thinking about changing it to one of Ghandi's. Ghandi viewed the vegetarian issue purely in a moral sense, and Ghandi is one of the greatest moral examples the world looks up to.

Einstein even said of Ghandi, that when hundreds of years have past, men will look upon him and wonder if it were true that such a mortal had ever walked the Earth.

Saw the second snake of the summer in our yard last night. This time it was an akamata. Had the dogs out to do their 'business' and when I had my back to the shed, I heard a thump on the ground behind me. Looked back and there it was -- about 1 meter long. Fell off the roof of the shed.

Not deadly poisonous but got the dogs in the house and went back to look at it until it slithered away over the rock wall into the undergrowth.

Don't kill akamatas because they have been known to eat habu.

Very beautiful with a bright kinda copper red to them. Here is one:

Well, keeping fingers clean while typing is important, unless you want an orange sticky dorito keyboard. Chopsticks are great for that. Going back and forth with babywipes is too time consuming for me. Besides, I like to keep my fingers from touching food.

btw, a good Christmas/Halloween game for American kids not used to using chopsticks is seeing who can finish a bowl of popcorn first by using them. Delicious and fun -- and a little frustrating for them as they try to master chopsticks.

Freakin funny!!!

Yeah, you figure that one out you will be one rich an famous woman!!!!

To replicate as much as possible your teleport machine would need to be able to stimulate the head in a similar manner as the birth canal.....to help move and align the skull plates for proper formation and the best suckling abilities as well as getting some of those natural reflexes fired up.

Another perfect Okinawan night in regards to weather. The temperature and humidity level are just perfect for me now.

Wish it was like this every night all year long.

I always said November was my FAVORITE month of the year there.
It is just the perfect mixture of temp and moisture, as you said.
*Ahhhhhh* relaxing.

It was good, set out in a lawn chair, drinking coffee and BSing with the neighbors weather.

I am genki. I'm really at ease tonight. Got a lot of stress off my chest and I'm feeling great for a change. :)

A little cold today. Did a little pruning of the vines growing on the walk wall today. Slept a lot, too.

It's Friday, but for some reason it feels like a Sunday. Perhaps because today was a Jpn national holiday.

Just put on a new futon on bed. Nice and fluffy comfy. Looks warm. The kansoki is going strong. Gonna be toasty soon. Can't wait.

Ah your lucky! Mine is starting to get worse. The coughing has started up a little bit more, and my throat is killing me right now. Oh and I got a killer sinus headache earlier, felt like my left eye was gonna pop out.

If this is just a general chit chat forum... I'm about to lay some knowledge on ya for the casino. The only reason tha tI don't post this in the Casino thread, I don't think that many people will read this and I want to help but not have the world read this.

If you foloow these easy steps, you too can rape the Indians out of their hard earned casino money... ( the Indian being DK) You know that we have to stick it to the man every chance that we get, so here goes.

Play the new game Roulette. This is very easy. Stay way from the numbers... that's a blind man's game, unless you have alot of money. If that's the case, go to your "CP" and then "manage credits" donate them to me, I can always use them. I give most away, but only after following these easy steps...

Ok back on track, only bet on the RED or the BLACK. But here's the thing... you have to stick to one color the entire time.

bet within reason, the concept here is always double your bet when you lose and start over when you win

W=win, L=Lost

50L,100L,200L,400W=800

You would have won the first hundred back that's it. As long as you have enough cerdits, you can always double until you win. this way you never really lose... just don't get gready like me and try to step up to a higher chip set with out having the capital to back you... you'll lose big that way. The odds that you will lose more than 7 times is almost impossible!

So donate those credits to Mad Hatter, that way I won't have to post these long ass thread to get my credits up!!

Thank you, have a nice day and good gambling!!!
