So I am going to take my Network + Exam in 2 weeks. I have been studying my ass off for the past month and I was wondering if anyone out there has some inside scoop on the exam.

Like maybe a website with some exam questions or something like that.

Not looking for an easy way out, just trying to use every resource possible.

Thanks!

Yeah I took it. We had one of those cram courses, where a guy comes in and teaches you for two days, ten you go take the exam. (tough the real points is simply to take a "practice test" that is remarkably like the real test, and go throught it over and over.) I will say this, you can get through a lot of the test on common sense and a bit of computer knowledge. I guess the make or break thing for you is

know the acronyms : a lot of questions would be almost self explanatory f they spelled it out, the answer would be in the question. Instead they only use the letters. if you don;t know what PKI, P2P, etc stand for, you are going to have a hard time.

know port numbers. There will be a lot of questions where you basically NEED to know which ports are for which funtions.

I took it a couple years ago. Another big thing to study is which cable tips go on which cables and the types of cables. Especially fiber cables!

The course the dude taught us took one week. Literally 2 days of study, security plus exam, another day and a half of study, network + exam. I got a perfect score on security and a 860 out of 900 on the network. The night after i took the network + my GF's laptop wouldn't connect to the internet. I wasn't able to fix it.

note: I took another look two weeks later and did manage to fix it. it was some simple ass shit too. basically, the box for use such and such proxy server address was checked, and the proxy add must have been wrong. uncheck the use proxy box. problem solved. I guess the cool thing about real IT guys is once they have that wealth of knowledge, they can do most procedures or trouble shoot most problems with like 3 steps and minimal effort, but you would swear they just worked some magical ass shit, since you don;t know any better.)

shit I meant to post this yesterday. I just found, errr um.. I mean this one guy... that took a comptia boot camp course, just happened to find his thumb drive with all the course materials, IE: the lessons plans, study guide, and a net+ and security+ practice test that is umm ... lets just say "remarkably good practice..." for the real exam. If anybody needed this, pm me.
