The Crackberry is more of a business machine. If you need to look at Word documents and Exel files on the go, and be connected to Outlook 24/7, it's not a bad deal. The physical keyboard is good for those with poor deterity and learning disabilities.
i-Phone is all about apps. More and more games, translators, budget & travel tools, trinkets, blah blah blah. Someone just wrote in another thread how you can test the sound level (how many decibels) of your location with an app. Every day dozens more apps appear. The functionality of the iPhone is increasing exponentially.
The Iphone is a cool toy.

The Iphone is a cool toy.
Thing about the iPhone is that it excels as a toy, in that it really is a hand-held PC. You can do the gaming, you can do the productivity, and you can constantly find new and interesting software to make it even more fun, functional, and productive for you. If it was Docomo instead of Softbank, it'd be damn near perfect!

For those of you with IPhones through Softbank, do you have unlimited online capabilities and what are your monthly bills looking like. I'm guessing 10-20 for the phone plan and 50-60 for the internet. Like 60-80 bucks a month?
The Iphone is the coolest toy ever made.

i was hesitant at first to get one, but now that its out for a while and most of the leaders in tech commonly have it, i think it is a solid product worth buying. the amount of applications it has pretty much makes it leader of the pack. Plus developing apps seems to be like a good cash cow for any aspiring programmers. JU app anybody? LOL
Yep, I'm already looking into it. :)

I would certainly have an iphone now if A) AT&T wasn't the only provider, and B) I could get service at home for less than $100 dollars a month. So I went and got a 16gig touch and it rocks. I do miss having a GPS though. I use skype with a mic I got at Target for 9 bucks, wifi hotspots are everywhere, even in the sticks where I live. My regular phone sits turned off in my glove box most times, so I'm certainly not a cell/text addict like some people.
A JU app would freakin' rock! I'm kind of pissed at apple now, I was trying to sync just some podcasts that I want to listen to on this laptop, no matter what I choose for app sync settings, it tries to delete all my damn apps! Music, movies, etc. are all fine as long as I leave the boxes unchecked. So I have to sit at the computer to listen to my podcasts, or lug it out onto the balcony.:cursing:

Unlock your IPhone with Redsn0w and install yellowsn0w through Cydia and you are free to do whatever you like with the Iphone. I use Skype through the 3G network back to the states, $5.99 a month and no additional charges from softbank. IPhone Rocks... Only when Jailbroken...
So if you jailbreak it you can get service through any provider (cell co.)? I'd have gotten a jailbroke IPhone and stayed with AU if I could have. Oh well, the Touch is on the way and as said before I really dig my current cell for it's camera, SD, and even one seg TV.

Have you known anyone who has gone to DoCoMo with an unlocked Iphone and has actually used the service!?
Why would AU not work? (Just asking in case some other Phreaker knows the answer).

I wouldn't go to DoCoMo with unlocked iphone and ask for service. They would probably laugh at you. You need a DoCoMo phone/service with a sim card. Yes, I do know someone ;) but it's voice only. Not sure how their data plan would work.
Why would AU not work? (Just asking in case some other Phreaker knows the answer).
LOL Phreaker!
Different antenna chip frequency. Iphone doesn't have a compatible one for AU.
I really want an Iphone, but hate Softbank service.
So keep AU for voice and use iphone for email and internet. Softbank's unlimited data plan is only 4,400 yen a month, DoCoMo and AU 5,900.

Jailbreak let's use apps not approved by apple/itunes store.
Google voice, tethering, changing the appearance(home page, icons), VOIP/SKYPE over 3G, and multitasking. When you jailbreak you get an app store loaded on the iphone, works best over WIFI.
Unlocking refers to using it on another carrier. DoCoMo being the only option in Japan but if you go to the states for vacation you could buy a prepaid sim card to use with it.
LOL, I voted "No I can't live without it" and have lived without my iPhone for over a month now.

How about an app, that when the user of their own cell phone presses a button, they feel a jolt, and are suddenly infected with "Common Sense"?
