i just tried to add music to my itunes library that i got from isohunt, apparently you can't do that anymore, they fixed it somehow so it just wont transfer. i tried going to an older version of iTunes and it wouldn't open on my mac because "iTunes library was saved with and older version" so i'm screwed. anyone noticed this problem? any way around it yet?

Found a fix for people who want to add avis, mpg, and mkvs from the web into iTunes

MAC ONLY :D :D :D

1. Download internet video to desktop
2. Download and install Perian http://www.perian.org/
3. Find your Mac OS X Install Disk and Under Optional Installs, Install XCode
4. Open Terminal
5. Navigate to the Desktop folder
6. List and find your file
7. Type in the following command: SetFile -t "MooV" -c "TVOD"
8. Type in the fullname of the file (case-sensitive)
9. If you did it right, the command prompt will start another line, you will get an error message if you did it wrong.
10. Drag and drop video into iTunes (It will be a bit slower, but works)

my-mac:~ User$ cd Desktop
my-mac: ls
MyCoolMovie.mkv
my-mac: User$ SetFile -t "MooV" -c "TVOD" MyCoolMovie.mkv

what a worthless troll post... :D :D :D

No one is confined to the iPod.

Apple is a business, they should be allowed to control the products they want. And apparently alot people dont seem to mind since they keep buying their products....

Pffffttt....

Pffffttt....

I disagree...once you buy their product you should be able to put anything you like on it. Does iTunes have a nice porn collection?

I'll let everyone in on a secret,

when you buy Apple, you are consenting to the fact that you will do things the way Steve Jobs wants it, some people would rather prefer to let Apple tell them what to do.

Once you accept that, then it all becomes clear.

Also Apple should be allowed to control how their machines operate because of quality control. If people start going around and putting in non-standard or infected files on their device, who usually gets the blame? Oh its not the files fault, its the company.....

Microsoft has every right to ban someone who mods their XBOX. Its vital to the business structure.

I find it that pecuiliar that alot of people dont recognize the fact that they treat intellectual property exactly the same as all other physical products.... The underlying theme is that users CONSENT to not modifying applications once they hit NEXT, NEXT, NEXT.

:D :D :D

Apple doesnt need porn apps, it causes too much of a pain in the ass from parent groups and bible thumpers. However if you want porn so much why not just load the videos and pics yourself? Apple doesnt block that....

You know, If you have such an overwhelming NEEDto put porn on your iPod/iTouch/iPhone then you have bigger issues to contend with.

What, you can't wait to get home to you PC/MAC to rub one out??

Where is all this rubbing taking place at?

I really thought we as a populace were getting over the piracy stuff. Regardless of whether you like Green Day's shitty brand of Punk/Pop, they still put work into it, and created it to be sold for profit.

Just because you don't want to buy their polished poo log doesn't mean you have the right to take it. I almost get a feeling of entitlement from some people. Just like people wrongly believe that free education or health care is a right, it seems that many people think they have the right to anything and everything on the internet.

It just doesn't work that way. What would your Grandma think? She'd probably be dragging you by the ear back to that band's "doorstep" and having you apologize and give back the music you stole.

Really, are there many people in the US who can't afford a buck a song, and 10 bucks an album? I'd guess that most who can't probably don't have internet access.

Not this crap again.

It's not stealing. The music/videos belong to whoever bought the CD, DVD, file etc etc and uploaded it first. They are sharing something they own.

You're totally oversimplifying the argument. The "music" belongs to the people that created it. All you're paying for when you buy music is the right to listen to it whenever you like, in such a means that is agreed upon by you through whatever purchase agreement you may have made, be it via iTunes, or from Fred's CDs and Tapes. I bet it is explicitly stated in all of the above means, that you are *NOT* allowed to distribute the music.

FAIL. search b00bs in iTunes store, theres only 8 and one of them is cracked magazine. there is no hardcore porn in the app store.

your post had nothing to do with helping the OP. Rather than offer any advice to the situation, you preferred to make a fanboi response that you answered yourself.

TROLL.

Off topic slightly.

I find it ironic that people are quick to call file sharing stealing yet very few people call out the privately owned Federal Reserve Syatem that steals from all of us and is nothing more than legal counterfieting.

I love the irony.

At the next HR meet, I will gladly explain the difference between IT ethics and the Fed.

They are not the same argument.
