Do you think message forums like JapanUpdate are going to stick around...
or is something like facebook, 2nd life, and twitter going to replace them?
I'm not familiar with facebook/twitter so I don't know, but my gut feeling is telling me that message boards are going to be a thing of the past.

JU will be here forever or at least until dk is old and dies and even in that case he will probaly pass it on to his kids so this site is not going anywhere.
LOL, and here I was thinking that, "damn, this website is getting the best of me... Maybe it's time to pass the torch on..." hehe...
The internet is young and constantly evolving. I try to keep up, and I think I do an ok job... But sure, some things I do will become obsolete before I even realize it. And forums may do that, but I doubt it, because discussion is a huge part of life, and you can't really hold a good discussion on twitter like you can on a forum.

Yes. This site will be extinct, and all of us heathens will burn in the fires of Hades. Especially those who make fun of the King of Thailand.

Actually a lot of the sites are integrated now: twitter, facebook, gmail, mashable, blippr, friendfeed, digg,. Comment on one and you can comment on all.
A lot of the tech sites like gawkermedia(gizmodo, jalopnik, kotaku) you can comment with your facebook account.
