All right, there are some threads here which have been spending a lot of time on trashing AFN and their djs (and I've joined in on that as well). To add some balance, though, this thread is for giving some positive feedback on their work.

I do hear some good stuff on AFN and think that when they do some good programming or have an excellent interview, then we should point that out and give a compliment when it is due.

Direct it at AFN in general or a specific dj or guest.
---------------------------------------------------------

I'll start:

I caught the last 20 mins of Samy's show this morning while in the car and some good music was being played. I really liked the Pink Floyd, "Brick in the Wall," and the song Samy pulled down from the internet from one of the performing musician/singer geust at the Rocker Club in the future. It is not that I immensely liked that song, but I liked the fact that something not on the play list, or even something they did not have, and is off the beaten trail, was provided to us.

That is cool that that was done. Perhaps pulling some songs from bands still trying to make it big from college radio to play on the air here for us could be something they could look into.

Good show and good job on interviewing that guest (though his monotone voice and lack of excitement could have benefitted from a caffein drink) this morning, Samy.

Uhm...
positive #1: I don't hear that annoying Jane Noise as much on the radio anymore.
positive #2: The Sammy guy, Weatherly guy and Krull guy are good at the talking thing.
positive #3: I have yet to hear the umbrella song on the radio.
Hope that's a good start. :)

Positive #1, I can't remember the last time I've heard that Delilah song.

My radio has been off a lot lately though.

You know, I don't think I've ever heard the umbrella song. Must just be good timing.

Saw something on AFN last night, I think it was part of the umbrella song video, but I can't remember.

I caught the morning show this morning, and have to say the dj (???) filling in for Samy did a good job this morning. He had on Kurtis from MCCS and the conversation was pretty lively. Also, this Kurtis dude was much more livelier this morning than last Friday. Last Friday his voice was one flat deathly monotone.

He seemed to have some inflection and emotion in his voice this time. Perhaps he got a caffein fix. Anyways... a great improvement.

For the parts I caught today: Good show today.

I've really been searching for something good to say about AFN radio. But, I actually work while I'm at work so I don't have anytime to listen to the radio. If I'm at my desk, there isn't a radio in our office. The only time I listen to the radio is once I'm in our work van, or I forget my ipod.

So from only listening to the radio for maybe an hour a day tops, all I hear is crap.

another positive is some year maybe AM will return to the air. possibly within a year or two.

Hey, I have nothing but respect for people that have to work in an environment where they have to try and please everyone all of the time.

It's impossible.

The people that work at AFN in my opinion work hard at trying to do as professional job as they can.

Keep up the good work....next time though please dont take calls on your noon call in request show from people that post here.:D it will make the show even that much better.
