All right, there are some threads here which have been spending a lot of time on trashing AFN and their djs (and I've joined in on that as well). To add some balance, though, this thread is for giving some positive feedback on their work.
I do hear some good stuff on AFN and think that when they do some good programming or have an excellent interview, then we should point that out and give a compliment when it is due.
Direct it at AFN in general or a specific dj or guest.
---------------------------------------------------------
I'll start:
I caught the last 20 mins of Samy's show this morning while in the car and some good music was being played. I really liked the Pink Floyd, "Brick in the Wall," and the song Samy pulled down from the internet from one of the performing musician/singer geust at the Rocker Club in the future. It is not that I immensely liked that song, but I liked the fact that something not on the play list, or even something they did not have, and is off the beaten trail, was provided to us.
That is cool that that was done. Perhaps pulling some songs from bands still trying to make it big from college radio to play on the air here for us could be something they could look into.
Good show and good job on interviewing that guest (though his monotone voice and lack of excitement could have benefitted from a caffein drink) this morning, Samy.
