This may not be the biggest request and it really isnt anything major but is there any way you could include a mark somewhere near the handle or persons post count that indentifies the user as a male or female.

There have been a few posts recently that I could not tell by the manner of the post whether or not the member was a man or woman. Plus there was no indication from the profile page of the member either.

Thanks.

I wondered about that too, they had that on another forum I used to look into.
For some reason people on here seem to think I am a guy, I know dk mistook me for one a while back...guess sometimes it's hard to tell.

I think that would be a good idea. There could be an 'undetermined' option too in case they don't want you to know what sex they are.

Mmm....then it kind of defeats the purpose of having some type of identifier in the first place dont you think?

Yes but some people don't want you to know.

Or maybe some people haven't figured out which sex they are yet:D

I don't think it should make any difference overall. And in cases where the poster feels that a gender identification would be helpful, the poster can always include that information in the post.

I think it would be helpful, but then people might get counter answers such as thats what a girl would say" or are you on your period. Even "your thinking with your balls and not your brain".

Let the poster make the decision if knowing the gender of the poster matters. I like the idea of having the option of not disclosing gender.

Ultimately, you wouldn't really know for sure anyway.

True, one wouldnt know, and I agree. But for most posts in my opinion it would help without having to research the profile.

Also it would eliminate the need to post it anyway.

Really? The Transformer cartoon avatar is really misleading then. ;) heh. :chuckle:

I don't mind folks knowing that I'm a breeder. I do understand if someone doesn't want his or her gender known though. Sometimes, single females are hesitant to mention their gender in public. I think that an option for male, female and decline to answer is feasible. Then again, what's not to say the next option wouldn't be for carnivore, vegetarian, vegan, omnivore? or regarding sexual orientation? or ethnicity? or number of toes? ;)

Or size of second toe.

I'm still not sold on this idea. I have been reading everyone's ideas, I'm just not really sure if this is something that needs to be added. If one of you wants to make a poll, go ahead.

Those were my thoughts too. What does it matter what gender someone is? Perhaps I am being thick, but it is refreshing to interact with fellow humans without regard to their gender, race, or ethnic group.

What is this, a dating site? :) And what the hell is a breeder? It sounds fun! I want to be a breeder too.

I wouldn't mind being a sperm donor...

You were a sperm donor, dk. That also puts you into the breeder class automatically. In that respect, even those same gender specialists can be considered breeders in the off-sides way. This isn't technically a dating site, but it does a couple "looking for a date" threads. ;)

A biker chick!

That would be hot!! There is definitely something sexy about a female who rides! Been trying to talk Temp into learning to ride, but she is just not down with it. Not really sure which is scarier though, her riding on her own, or her on the back with me piloting! :scared:

I'm a guy...I drive a truck (a surf to be exact) and I have a large Florida Gator on my back window. Feel free to wave if you see me, or if you don't like me flip me off! I'll return the same!

I don't like this idea either. If someone doesn't want their gender specifically known, then when they registered they may purposely click what gender they are not. And if their speech mannerisms are opposite of that, or they let slip something that seems to not match that registered gender, it may be just one more thing for someone to latch onto and or call them a liar.

No reason to go down this road. If someone wants their gender known, then in the Meet and Greet they may/will announce it.

Let them exercise their own innitiative to do so.

You complain about my automobile driving, I can only begin to imagine how bad it would be if I ever actually decided I wanted to ride a bike. *shakes head and reaches for Motrin at the thought of it* :)

Thats what my family rides. When you picture big, burly biker dudes.....yeah, that's what my Uncles all look like.:-|

I dunno, until Boost gets too "old" to ride a sport bike, I dunno if we will see him on anything but a sport bike.

Though what age is too old? Know someone upwards of 50 that still rides one.
