Anyone here use a wireless mouse? How long does the battery last? Mine seems to go real quick, like a couple weeks. I use it all day at work. Are you supposed to take the USB dongle (I think it's called) out when you aren't using it? I never remember to do that at the end of the day.

It would be easier to just use a wired mouse but after using the wireless, I can't go back. It's so smooth, fast and liberating.

I'd use one at home too but my screen saver won't come on when using it at home. Maybe I should try getting in the habit of removing the dongle, then they'd last longer and I could still utilize my screen saver at home.

Ah, good ol' hump-day afternoon random thoughts on wireless mice.....

Just got a tip on some sort of wireless mouse/pen tablet thingy at the BX. Supposedly the pad plugs into the usb and then the mouse operates on it w/out batterys. Sounds like the way to go.

I have one, that uses batteries.
I left it on for a month while gone to hawaii, and my husband and I both spend a lot of time using it....for hours each day. so far so good, haven't changed the batteries yet.

Have you used this new mouse you mentioned?
How is it?

Haven't used it. I just hear it's good. Sound's a little pricey though.

My daughter has the tablet with mouse. If you've never used a tablet before it takes alot of time getting used to. the mouse is not full size.

i just bought a microsoft wireless mouse and it's pretty nice. it uses AAA batteries so it'll be easy to change, but i bought it this weekend so i can't testify as to how long they last.

it also wakes up my computer when the screen saver is on.

logitech has some wireless mice that come with a charging dock that will recharge the batteries. Might want to look into those.

Get one with a charger. Then you don't need batteries... My wireless rocks.

I asked about this thing a long time ago, don't know anybody who owns one.

For a graphics pad, I would want a touch screen, that lets me see what I'm doing. And those things cost way much more than I am willing to spend.

Let me clarify. I want to spend that amount of money, the "Wife", won't let me.

I got a Logitech wireless mouse last Christmas with a 'nano receiver' thing, use it for 9+ hours a day, most days a week, and am yet to need to change the batteries (nearly 6 months now) :)

If you're hardware supports it, go Bluetooth for sure. The bluetooth mouse for my mac gets used on my iMac at home, and on my laptop on the road. I carry it with me everywhere I carry a computer, which is almost everywhere. All I do is pair it to my machines, no dongle, no charging dock. It has gone on 2 AA's for over 6 months now. I don't know if all bluetooth mice are this way, but if not, buy a Mac mouse, even if you've got a PC.
