I almost went over to (formerly known as) Sai last night cause I actually ended up going to a bar close to that area (kinda) but wasn't sure which place it was. Probably good I didn't though cause 4 and a half beers killed me somehow last night. "Doctor_P" approached me a long time ago, about being a "Moderator". I turned him down. Back in those days, this was supposed t be a family friendly environment.

Doc_P contacted me while I was back in the the states. My memory may be faulty, but it was just about the time that he had convinced dk to bring the forum back.

I've never approached "dk" about wanting to be a "Moderator", and while he was looking for ways to ease his burden, other people have stepped in and have done wonderful jobs.

But once the JU Forums came up again, and as more moderators came into the picture, they started pushing the "Envelope", and while those posters have provided pictures into their own lives, the value of this thread has dropped from it's intended purpose.

Or, maybe it has not. Maybe I'm too old/wise, to appreciate the inputs. I don't agree with a lot of things, but this is a "Forum". Or, at least it's supposed to be.

When I reply to a "Technical Issue", "Are you on drugs?"...

Bones, I know you aren't sweating the small stuff. As I get older, I realize a few things. Since you and I (and a few others) are on the upper end of the age spectrum, much of what is posted here seems trivial.

Comments about raising kids, or the new boss, or some other life thing we've already gone through don't apply. At some posts, I just chuckle, and try to remember when I was in my 20's or 30's figuring the same things out.

The video game threads for example. When we were the age of the average poster here, Atari was coming out with the Star Wars games. When I reached my first duty station, the "E" club had "Pong" in it for a quarter a game. Heck, my first home game console was dedicated to pong.

Our kids are having kids, and our grandkids are getting older and having the same discussions the people here have.

Of course what these youngsters don't realize, is that our generation really did invent sex. Sex, drugs and rock and roll actually. Loading the bug up with some women, some wine and some weed and hanging out on the nude beach area by the river. Does anyone even do that anymore?

I'm sure that everyone who has met you in person has enjoyed your company. I certainly wouldn't concern myself with what goes on here. Post what you want to post, even your overly conservative view points. But just don't take yourself too seriously. You know no one else does!
