How did the uproar caused by telling the public about this issue and then reversing the policy make us more morally superior when reversing the policy and not creating an uproar would have accomplished the same thing? Despite your objections, I feel that asking you to explain your views on this subject rather than insult mine, constitutes a valid remark. There was no bickering until you insulted my post for no reason! If you had disagreed and given a counter argument, or even disagreed and said you had no desire to post a counter argument, that would have been one thing. I feel the abuse of power came with the original title of this thread which was "A new thread for zim to contradict himself over and over again". If the split had been simply to move our debate of the issue to a place where the heat of our posts didn't sway the original thread, that would have been one thing. But to move it to a thread with an insulting title after all the defamatory posts, to me that's abuse. Asking another mod to do it if they felt it was warranted would have been more appropriate. But I feel he insulted me in the original thread and then exercised his power by doing it again and more directly with the new title.

I know he was on my ass before he was a mod. I know I'm not the first person to get in a fight here. I also know that it takes two to tango and I share part of the blame for things getting out of hand. And while I still think it's BS to make derogatory posts about someone else's opinions without giving reason, it's also not the first time he's done that either. Such is life. But I felt the abuse of power came when he added to the insulting connotation of those posts by then moving the posts in which I put him in the spotlight into a new thread with a title meant to insult me. It looked to me like he was uncomfortable being called on the carpet for his unwarranted rudeness and so he chose to move those posts into a thread with a title chosen specifically to start the reader with a negative impression of me in order to cover up his disrespectful behaviour. But, since I can't prove any of this unless he admits to it (which is highly unlikely), and given it's his word against mine and, him being more trustworthy by virtue of title, mine is not likely to win, I'll have to let it go.

Especially to then split the thread and move the posts to a new thread with a title designed to cast discredit upon the person who A) is given as the reason for the split and B) is the person who the Mod themselves was fighting with.

That is where I took issue with abuse of power. Other mods have split threads, even ones where I have been involved in the derailing of the thread. But not to name the split in such a way as to insult the person they themselves are arguing with. That's basically saying "you're an idiot and your argument is worthless. Let me move it over here to the "(insert name here) is an idiot" thread that I've started just so people can see how dumb you really are."

He acted as judge and jury at his own trial. He and I got into it a bit. Ok, split the thread. But doing it himself and in the way he did it was abusive. If I cut out the posts where I look bad and put them into a new thread with a title that makes the other person look bad wouldn't that be wrong? A little rewriting of history to make me the winner? The abuse of power was brought up as soon as I noticed the new thread. dk got a message, I made a comment in the thread, the post was reported, and then in the chatbox, in that order.

And I don't "thrive" on arguing. But I'm not going to back down when I feel attacked just because I'm out numbered. I have been in plenty of discussions where arguments didn't arise. I do my best to argue my point without being disrespectful. I do mess up and get personal, but even then I would feel comfortable saying that mostly happens when I feel attacked. I don't head into any discussion trying to piss people off. I think it's a great source of pride when you can argue a point in such a way that other people end up saying "you may have a point. I should rethink this." But when people want to get personal I have no problem reciprocating because they are showing their unwillingness to see the other side of things, if only to try it on. The more personal they get, the firmer I want to stand my ground.

I am usually on the side that is not in the majority. Naturally I'm not going to be looked at favorably. But that doesn't make me an idiot, nor does it make his claims that I regularly contradict myself accurate. How many times have you been misquoted or had an opinion from a topic you find unrelated dragged over into a new topic and used against you because the other person considers the topics linked? Or clearly been discredited on one issue because someone switches the focus from topic A by stating your opinion of topic B which the majority disagree with, thereby rallying the support of topic A to their side because nobody wants to look like they are supporting your view of B. I know I've had that happen multiple times.

As I recall, the reason I was getting "heated" is because you mocked my intelligence and understanding of the subject. I gave an opinion and you insinuated I was too stupid to understand what you felt was really going on even if it were laid out for me. When I asked you to do so, you didn't say you didn't want to (as you claimed), you posted more insinuations that I was stupid. Had you posted a reason for your difference in opinion, posted that you had no interest in posting your opinion, or simply not posted if the only thing you had to contribute was insults, then I wouldn't have gotten heated. You've previously stated that I am predictable when someone does the sort of thing that you did. If that's true, then you knew I was going to become "heated: and you did it anyway. Why? What purpose did it serve?
