My family and I will be moving to Kadena later on this yr and wanted to know if anyone is familiar with taking classes for Nursing over there. My wife is currently a LVN but wants to get her RN and was wondering are there any online classes over there or on-base schools or programs for it.

I may be wrong, but I heard you can challenge the RN board after minimum 2 years of being an LVN. I remember asking a nurse at a hospital in San Diego and she told me she was an LVN for a few years, then challenged the board to become an RN. That was how she became an RN.
Again, I don't really know for sure. You might want to look into it.

I was actually looking into this a while back. There are no universities here on base that offer nursing classes. Some of them do however offer some EMT classes and that is about the closest thing. I looked online and looked online and I could never find a university that offered any nursing classes online other than the RN-BSN classes. In any case there is no way to do clinicals here. There are other health related degrees offered here, just none involving clinicals. They do hire nurses every so often on base different places.
