Those look like memorials similar to ones found at the Peace Park at the southern end of the island of Okinawa.

Which also happen to be close and a part of the location of the suicide cliffs at Mabuni as well.

Is taking me a little bit to become familiar with how this wokrs. Thanks for the links.
I think I have now scoured every picture about Okinawa on the internet. So many memories and some things I had forgotten about completely have come back to me.
