Nothing's changed for me. I feel bad for those who had ALLOT and have lost allot but for those that didn't have a whole lot to lose in the first place, and that don't live extravagantly, even though they can't afford to, I think they're probably just living life as normal (like me). I mean I'm not poor, I have some nice stuff, but I have no debt and the recent economic decline had no effect on the little chunk I have set aside.

Edit: So I guess to answer the OP's question, I'm both and content, I guess, for now.

I have kept debt-free, and saved cash. Sure, my stocks suck, but I am still buying them. Sure, my home is taking awhile to sell, but I have the option of re-renting it. I have a job.

No problems for me. But I do worry about my son's ability to land a decent job. I also worry my tax bill will increase, as I feel those who have will be paying for those who have not. Call me crazy. I worry about it.

If the economy doesn't improve this year, I plan to take all of my assets offshore to hide them.

I have my health. :) So far so good but the tide can turn at any moment. If things do get worse and you happen to see me in a soup line, holla! :D

The one on the right is the Hoover Flag, The one on the left is the FDR flag. ;)

Only thing hurting me is the damn yen rate. Other than that, business is about 50% up from last year, with about 5 more gigs per month!!

We are "haves" in the grand scheme of things. My husband has a job. We have cars. We have debt. We have a place to live, food to eat and stuff. We are comfortably lower middle class. We're lucky these days.

I guess you could say my family and I are "haves." Although I could deal with being a "have not" if I had no debt. lol damn debt is the only thing I have to complain about. oh and the yen rate. lol

We have more than what we would and that is all that matters.

I'd say I'm a "have". But I have always believed in living reasonably frugal.......can't believe some people think $3500/Mo. is an average mortgage......and $600.00/Mo. is a normal car payment......we're doing all right and thank God I've got O.T. available.

I feel like a "Have" because I've always got sandwich meat in the fridge, and I can afford beer whenever I want, now (not drinking out all the time, yet). I'll be feeling a lot better after I pay off this $9000 college debt though...

Your old enough to have seen this coming. I think I posted a while ago, I managed to move my money when the housing bubble was blowing up. I simply could not understand the increases in prices, but the locations (geo) had me worried. The property I had in WVA. was losing value, though being improved!! Imagine that!!! :-|

Some one must have heard my prayers! I'm gonna be debt free by the end of the week! My long awaited post allowance back pay payment finally hit! woohoo! So now with debt out of the way I'm definitely a "have." Time to start saving away!:first:
