Lol... Gotta love sales stories. That's one reason I got tired of writing. It gets old saying "You don't wanna miss this!"

Because, maybe you do.

Because it is the only legitimate way they can buy twelve large pepperoni pizzas from the base.

Also, it's Sunday and that's family day, so dad can go there, sit on the grass in front of the tower and have the missus fetch beers, while the young-uns galavant around spending haku-ens.

Oh man, this is so true. They frenzy at the pizza corner and you see them walking off with leaning towers of pizza boxes stacked on top of one another.

That should read twelve large frozen pepperoni pizzas from the base commissary that MCCS will heat up and charge 1500 yen a pizza.

I guess My real comment/question should have been "How many Base haters will be there eating Y1500 pizza?" :D Because I could careless if the Okinawa's go or not I know I always have a good time there despite the traffic.

I went to see one of the country music acts a couple years ago. I drove there, listened and left. It was a night show. I wouldn't go there during the day though. The downside is definitely the traffic. I think I'll wait until the kid is old enough to enjoy the festive stuff.

They should take guests for low-level helicopter rides over the surrounding Ginowan neighborhoods, would do wonders for cross-cultural relationships... :scared:

Would be nice if they would take the local nationals for rides on LCACs (the huge hovercrafts) along the coast....through the beaches.....

this would show they are not dangerous...crashing is a very unlikely occurrence.

I used to think it would be fun to take a couple of the farmers from Ie shima on a jump out there and see how many of them land off the DZ into the sweet potato fields:thumbup:

Actually its pretty darn hard to land off the DZ over there:D

Up until about an hour half ago, we could hear the music coming from the Futenma Flightline Fair. But, the heavy rain put an end to that.

That's weird Prosecutor, I never heard any music, must be the wind direction I guess. Rained out again, I think it always happens at least one of the days!
I took my son there a couple of years ago, it is great for the kids as they get to climb up and see the war machines and helicopters.
Did not think much of the food there though, what pizza's?? Never saw them!

Yeah but today is "unkei" and I wonder if the crowds will be held down because of it.

I noticed that crowds were down everywhere because of that. It was nice to go shopping without horrible crowds and traffic.

I went today. it was a good time. remember most Okinawans don't dislike Futenma or the service members. The ones that do just have huge voices and will do anything to make them selfs herd.

Like greedy mayors or politicians who want the land so they can build condos on it. A lot of the Okinawans I talk to think thats whats gonna happen when they get it back.

But hey the festival is a good time. Its a little hot today but I had fun. Bring sun screen!

LOL, this is one good thing about leaving San Diego...everything is not crowded compared to there. Traffic is GREAT here on Okinawa (in comparison).
