How do search the autos? -- Go to Top Searching through the autos is very easy once you get the hang of it. At the very top of every page you will see a drop-bar that says, "Search by Auto Type". Click this and choose the type of auto ads you want to browse through. After you click the type, the autos will automatically redirect to the requested page. After searching, you will come to a page displaying the results of your search. All autos are sorted by year. If you see an auto that catches your eye, click it’s link. You will then be taken to a page with information about this car. If the seller has posted photographs of his or her auto, you will be able to browse through all of the photos provided. How do I place an autos ad? -- Go to Top Placing an ad to the Japan Update Autos is very easy. At the top of the screen you will see a link that says, "Place an Ad." This link takes you to the front page of the Autos. If you are already on the front page, you do not need to click this link. On the front page, there is information about various types of ads available such as Regular (Free), Priority, and Priority Gold. Inside the descriptions of each ad type, there are links to posting an ad. Click this, fill out the form, and submit your ad. If you make any mistakes the system will warn you and allow you to fix them. If you submitted your form without any errors, you ad will go into our database. If you are placing a Priority or Priority Gold ad, you must click the button that says, "Click to pay thru 2CheckOut." If you do not click this button, you have not paid. After clicking the button, follow the directions on the next few pages and submit your credit card information for payment. After we receive your payment, your ad will be validated by our webmaster and will appear online. If you are placing a Regular (Free) ad, your ad will be online immediately after you submit it. Please do not submit the same ad multiple times. As a side-note, if you are submitting a Priority or Priority Gold ad and plan on uploading pictures to accompany your ad, please make sure that all of your photos are either JPEG or GIF files with a size less than 100kb. If your photos are not JPEG or GIF files or are larger than 100kb, you will get an error message and you will have to fix your files before uploading. Have everything prepared before attempting to use the autos. Why is my ad not appearing online? -- Go to Top If you placed a Regular (Free) ad, your ad should appear online immediately after submission. If your ad isn’t appearing online, you may have made a mistake. Please try again. If you placed a Priority or Priority Gold ad, your ad will not appear online until it is validated by our webmaster. As soon as we receive your payment, we will validate your ad. Please be patient. If you submitted a Priority or Priority Gold ad and you ad hasn’t appeared online after more than 24 hours, please send our webmaster an email at webmaster@japanupdate.com and we will look into the problem. Why should I place a priority autos ad rather than a classifieds ad? -- Go to Top Priority Autos ads cost $13.50. Priority Classifieds ads cost $10. So, where does that extra $3.50 go? The reason Priority Autos ads are such a good deal is because these ads appear in BOTH the Japan Update Classifieds AND Japan Update Autos for only a $3.50 increase in cost. In essence, you are able to kill two birds with one stone for only a 35% increase in cost. Also, when you place a Priority Classifieds ad, you are only able to upload one photograph to accompany your ad. When you place a Priority Autos ad, you are able to upload UP TO FOUR photographs to accompany your ad, and your main photograph is forwarded into the Online Japan Update Classifieds as well. The main reason to use the Autos rather than the Classifieds when placing an autos ad is Exposure. If you want twice the coverage, use the Japan Update Autos. Why should I place a priority gold autos ad rather than a classifieds ad? -- Go to Top Priority Gold Autos ads cost $15 per week. Priority Gold Classifieds ads cost $13.50 per week. So, where does that extra $1.50 go? The reason Priority Gold Autos ads are such a good deal is because these ads appear in BOTH the Japan Update Classifieds AND Japan Update Autos for only a $1.50 increase in cost. Also, when you place a Priority Gold Classifieds ad, you are only able to upload one photograph to accompany your ad. How do I pay online? -- Go to Top Immediately after you successfully submit a Priority or Priority Gold ad, you will see a button surrounded by a grey box that says, "Click to pay thru 2CheckOut." Click this and fill out your credit card information on the next few pages. After submitting your credit card information, you will soon receive an email receipt from 2checkout.com addressed from webmaster@japanupdate.com stating how much you paid and what type of ad you paid for. I forgot to pay for my ad. How can I pay? -- Go to Top If you submitted your ad but forgot to pay online, click the appropriate button below to pay for your ad. Also, If you submitted your ad and think you paid online but never got an invoice in the email, your payment didn't go through, so try again by clicking one of the buttons below. I forgot to pay for my autos ad. Where else can I pay? -- Go to Top You can pay for autos ads at Print-21 inside the Camp Foster Concessions Mall or at Okinawa Market on Chuo Park Avenue near Kadena Gate 2 in Okinawa City. Please send an email in advance to yoshie@print-21.com stating when you will come by, which location you will be going to, and that you will be paying for an Autos ad, not a Classified Ad. Submit your ad online before you do so. We will hold on to your ad until we receive word that you have paid for your ad. After you pay, we will validate your ad and it’ll appear in the Japan Update Autos as well as the Japan Update Classifieds. How long will my ad stay online? -- Go to Top If you posted a Regular (Free) or Priority autos ad, your ad will stay online exactly seven days. If you posted a Priority Gold autos ad, you ad will stay online until you wish to discontinue your account and have your ad removed. If you would like your Priority Gold Autos Ad removed, send an email to webmaster@japanupdate.com with a copy of your latest email receipt. Can I edit or update my ad? -- Go to Top If you placed a Regular (Free) or Priority Autos ad, you cannot edit or update your ad. If you placed a Priority Gold Autos ad and want your ad edited, send an email to webmaster@japanupdate.com with any corrections or updates you want made as well as any photographs you want to add. If you send photos, be sure to tell us which photos you’d like replaced. I want my ad to appear for exactly __ weeks. What should I do? -- Go to Top Place your ad as a Priority Gold ad and email us at webmaster@japanupdate.com whenever you are ready for your ad to be removed and want billing to be stopped. How do I delete my free ad? -- Go to Top If you were signed into myJU when you submitted your Autos ad, you have the power in your myJU account to delete or renew your autos ads anytime you like. If you were not signed into myJU when you submitted your ad, you cannot delete your ad. However, all Regular (Free) autos ads are automatically removed seven days after submission. How do I remove a priority ad? -- Go to Top Email the webmaster at webmaster@japanupdate.com, tell us which ad is yours, and we will erase your ad for you. How do I remove a priority gold ad and stop being billed? -- Go to Top Email the webmaster at webmaster@japanupdate.com with a copy of your latest receipt and we will erase your ad and stop your billing.
