Part of Urasoe City Civil Hall ceiling crumblesDate Posted: 2002-06-23 The hall building is 28 years old and some think that it is the time to build a new one. “It’s no wonder that the place begins to come apart, we really should think the public safety and consider building a new civil hall,” Urasoe City Assemblyman Coichi Tokuyama says. Seichi Yoza, the chief of the Urasoe City Board of Education that is in charge of the hall says that the maintenance of the hall is contracted to a private contractor. “We have required the contractor provide us regularly an assessment of the condition of the building and the last time they surveyed it they did not find anything that was not sound. The conclusion was that there was nothing wrong with the structure and no reason to rebuild it,” Yoza said. |
