The Canada-Okinawa ice hockey friendship match was held on Sunday at Southern Hill skating rink in Haebaru Town. The event was organized as a pre-event of the upcoming Uchinanchu Festival scheduled for November. The aim was to develop friendships between Okinawan youth and Canadians or Okinawan ancestry through sports. The game lasted for one and a half hour and the Canadian team defeated Okinawan team by eight to nothing.
