JET participants arrive at NahaDate Posted: 2001-08-22 The participants come from nine different countries including U.S., Australia, China, and England, and work as assistant teachers in language classes in middle and high schools, or work in local government offices as cultural exchange assistants. The program started in 1987. 734 participants have been invited to Okinawa by last year. This year 89 people including those who renewed their contracts will stay in Okinawa for further internationalization of the island. |
