Wallet Theft Couple Caught in the ActDate Posted: 2000-01-08 According to registered Police accounts, the suspects were on the watch that day, waiting for a chance to take money from the victim's wallet. When the store owner was cleaning the rest room, the two suspects took his wallet from the counter. The wallet contained some¥35,000 in it. After they took the wallet, they fled from the site. However, the store owner, while still cleaning the toilet, felt that something strange had happened, as he heard strange noises. When he got out of the rest room and went out of the store, he recognized his wallet in the hands of the two culprits, as they tried to take money from it. Then he asked those two thieves to return the wallet to him. After that, the storeman checked his wallet and discovered that ¥10,000 was missing from it. As soon as he noticed that, he called police who came immediately and opened an investigation into the incident. Okinawa City Police arrested the suspects, Takamine and Oyakawa at 9:00 and 9:20 p.m. respectively, on the same day of the theft incident. |
