Magician performance challenges senses
Date Posted: 2012-01-05
Craig Karges is no ordinary man, making tables float and metals bend as he delves into his viewers minds during a performance, and he’s preparing to do more of the same Saturday night here in Okinawa.
The magician extraordinaire is performing free at the Crow’s Nest Club at Camp Shields Saturday, promising “an extreme mindblowing show” courtesy of Navy Entertainment. Doors open at 5:30 p.m. for the 6 p.m. show, which is open to all ranks, services and ages. Extraordinist Craig Karges is making Okinawa his first stop of 2012, on the heels of a 2011 schedule that put him on seven continents and performing in 31 states, as well.
A Craig Karges performance puts the audience in a mood where nothing is impossible to comprehend. It combines psychology and the power of intuition as he entertains. Karges insists he doesn’t possess supernatural powers, and he doesn’t claim to be a psychic or a magician, either. He calls himself “an entertainer where showmanship plans a role” that does not include any pre-arrangements with the audience.
The “triple ring” and “floating table” demonstrations are two of Karges’ more mind-boggling illusions called “unbelievable!!!” by those who’ve witnessed them over the past year. One witness to a Karges show said “if you’re looking for a knock-your-socks-off, amazing show, Craig is the answer.” At the Crow’s Nest Club, Karges promises to walk his audience through a repertoire of his more popular segments, including the floating table drifting across the stage.
Karges is also an accomplished author, writing ‘Extraordinary Tales: Stories from the Road’ and ‘The Wizard’s Legacy-A Tale of Real Magic’, and ‘Ignite Your Intuition’. He’s also put together ‘The Quiet Mind’ on tape and compact disc.
