MCCS Okinawa Hosts Community Job Fair

Date Posted: 2009-09-10

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) 2009 Community Job Fair will take place Wednesday, Sept. 9, 9 a.m.–2 p.m. at the Camp Foster Community Center (Bldg. 5908).

At the Community Job Fair, participants can learn about the vast array of job opportunities available, meet with representatives from different MCCS departments, Kadena HRO, AAFES and many more. Attendees can also review the many great benefits of becoming an MCCS employee, and even apply immediately for a job on-site via computer.

MCCS Okinawa is one of the largest employers and one of the largest sources of Non-Appropriated Fund jobs on the island, offering careers ranging from sports coordinators, writer/editors, athletic center complex managers, graphic designers, and recreation assistants to club managers, childcare service providers, budget analysts, IT technicians, webmasters, and more.

In addition to receiving a salary and many opportunities for personal/professional development, employees may be eligible—depending on their employment category—to participate in MCCS’ generous benefit programs. These programs include paid holidays and vacation time, sick leave, medical and dental insurance, long-term care, life and accidental death and dismemberment insurance, a retirement plan, 401(k) Savings Plan, 100-percent tuition assistance, and a free comprehensive training program.

Employees can learn new skills while earning a paycheck with MCCS Training. And, best of all, classes are free of charge. Computer training subjects offered include basic Microsoft Office, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access. MCCS Training also offers a wide variety of soft skill courses to enhance academic and professional experience. Upon class completion, employees can earn training certificates that can be valuable additions to resumes after leaving Okinawa.

The 2009 Community Job Fair is open to anyone who is eligible for SOFA employment. For more information call a Talent Management Coordinator at 645-8229 or visit www.mccsokinawa.com and click on jobs.
