Airlines pitching reminders to new carry-on restrictionsDate Posted: 2009-09-10 New rules adopted by 17 air carriers at Haneda Airport in Tokyo set size and weight restrictions based on the size of aircraft. Flight attendants have been actively publicizing the new requirements, which go into effect December 1st. Airlines implementing the new restrictions include Japan Airlines, All Nippon Airways, Skymark Airlines, Skynet Asia and Air Do. Currently, each airline has its own and often different rules, which have confused passengers. With the new rules applicable to all 17 carriers, carry-on bags must weigh no more than 10 kilograms and be no more than 45 cm tall, 20 cm wide and 35 cm deep for a plane with fewer than 100 seats. For larger aircraft, carry-on luggage can be 55 cm tall, 25 cm wide and 40 cm deep. |
