Record-setting planetarium visiting Tomigusuku City

The Planetarium Mega Star II is in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world’s number one planetarium.
Housed in a giant air bubble placed inside Tomiton Shopping Center in Tomigusuku City’s Toyozaki area sounth of Naha Airport, the Planetarium Mega Star II is currently staging ten performances a day during a month-long visit to Okinawa that began last weekend.

Takayuki Ohira, the Mega Star II creator, says the planetarium “has made an increase to project ten million stars, double the number from last year.” Visitors can lie down on the floor of the air bubble and observe the galaxy world.

Tickets for reclining seats are ¥1,200. Free seating area tickets for adults are ¥1,000, and free area tickets for kids 6~16 are ¥800. Tickets are available from Lawson’s with reservations possible up to three days in advance. Tickets can be purchased for a specific date.
