Blue Seal reopens with ice cream, pasta, pie and more

Date Posted: 2009-07-16

It’s shades of 1960’s pop at the newly remodeled and reopened Blue Seal Chatan Branch, an iconic and stylish interior making it fun to tackle the more than 30 different flavors of ice cream and a whole host of other delectable items just waiting.

Money’s never a problem at Blue Seal Chatan Branch, which features a currency exchange booth carrying American, Hong Kong and Taiwan dollars, Korean won, Chinese yuan and Euros. That’s important, because Blue Seal has a wide selection of parfait and sundaes, as well as the 30 ice cream flavors. On top of that, varieties of smoothies, pasta, apple pies and other tasty treats have joined the menu.

American-style crispy crust apple pie is only ¥300 for a slice, or ¥1,300 for the whole pie. Blue Seal Chatan Branch is open 10 a.m. ~ midnight every day, offering ten different pasta and hot dogs, and BigDip Cheeseburgers with homemade patties are now ¥350. The pasta set includes a scoop of your favorite ice cream, so Blue Seal challenges customers to drop by and satisfy an appetite for both a meal and a dessert in the store, conveniently located in the Mihama shopping district.

There’s an added bonus this week. Patrons taking the current issue of Japan Update on a visit to Blue Seal Chatan Branch will receive an additional single scoop ice cream free. Blue Seal accepts U.S. dollars and credit cards. An English menu is available.
