Heavy metal rules at Edoya Rock Fest

Date Posted: 2009-07-09

The bands performing at next weekend’s Edoya Rock Fest are well known to hard rock and heavy metal enthusiasts, and tickets for the one-night event are expected to go quickly.

Sponsored by Edoya Currency Exchange Service, the Edoya Rock Fest takes place Saturday, July 18th, at Club 7th Heaven Koza on Gate 2 Street. The daddy of the band performing, 8 Ball established in 1998, has all the sounds instilled by George Murasaki. F.O.D. can only be described as “a really heavy rock band.”

Fake Kingz, organized in 2004, is launching a live campaign on Okinawa that includes performances on U.S. military bases. Fake Kingz has won the Gold Prize at the Koza Music Fest and brings the new 21st century real Okinawan hard rock to the stage. 2side 1BRAIN is another local Okinawa band that’s made good with performances both on American bases and in downtown clubs, mixed with an occasional off-island performance.

Tickets for Edoya Rock Fest are on sale now at 7th Heaven Koza. Advance tickets are ¥1,000, while tickets at the door will be ¥1,500. Doors open the 18th at 8 p.m. with the show beginning at 8:30 pm.
