III MEF Band to host annual summer concertDate Posted: 2009-06-25  The concert, entitled “A Night of Imagination” will be presented by the band’s full concert ensemble, as well as the rock band and party band ensembles. The theme is inspired by songs from a variety of classic films and Disney movies, such as the Wizard of OZ, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin and more contemporary films such as Shrek. Accompanying the band will be guest singers, and a special presentation by Byron Jones, a master sanshin player. The U.S. Marine Corps on Okinawa sponsors this performance as a token of friendship and appreciation to the local community. This admission-free program is designed for everyone, from children to adults, to enjoy timeless and well-known music. |
