Marines to host a health care town hall meeting

An evening town hall meeting to discuss health care issues with a panel of medical and dental officials will be held at the Camp Foster Community Center June 3rd.

The town hall meeting, which will answer questions about medical issues on Okinawa, is open to all Status of Forces Agreement personnel and family members who are eligible for care at U.S. military medical facilities. The town hall meeting will take place from 6 ~ 8 pm. The director of the Personal and Family Readiness Division, Manpower and Reserve Affairs Department, Headquarters, Marine Corps, retired Marine Maj. Gen. Timothy R. Larsen, will chair the panel.

Larsen is the former commanding general, Marine Corps Bases, and deputy commanding general, U.S. Forces Japan. He retired nearly two years ago to take the Personal and Family Readiness position. He’ll be joined on the panel by Rear Adm. Richard R. Jeffries, medical officer of the Marine Corps and director of health services, and Rear Adm. Christine M. Bruzek-Kohler, commanding officer of Navy Medicine West and commanding officer of Naval Medical Center San Diego.

Also discussing medical and dental policies on Okinawa will be Navy Capt. Raquel C. Bono, chief of staff for Tricare Management Activity, Navy Capt. Brian S. Dawson, commander, U.S. Naval Hospital Okinawa, and Navy Capt. Michael J. Wolfgang, commander of 3rd Dental Battalion.
