Arson and murder suspected as two die in Urasoe blazeDate Posted: 2009-05-07 Urasoe City police suspect a mother and her son were the victims, as have been reported missing since the fire early Sunday morning. They identified the two as Shizuko Ameku, 73, and her 45-year-old son. A daughter living at the wood structure home was not there when the fire broke out. Police suspect an arsonist is at work in the Yafuso area, as there have been several other suspicious fires in the preceding 24 hours in a three-kilometer area. Authorities were tipped to the residential fire by a phone call advising ﾒthe wooden house is on fire now.ﾓ Three other fires in the same area occurred shortly before the residential fire. A car, a tent and a banner were burned in the other incidents. |
