Kings’ Kinjo chosen Player of the Week

Date Posted: 2009-04-23

Shigeyuki Kinjo is achieving loftier goals in the Basketball Japan League, moving up to being one of the league’s top shooting guards.

Kinjo, a perimeter guard for the Ryukyu Golden Kings, who hold sole possession of first place in the league’s Western Division, has been named Circle K Sunkus Player of the Week. Kinjo is sporting a 13.3 points-per-game average.

The 24-year-old Kinjo is consistently one of Okinawa’s top shooters, specializing in the long three-pointers, while typically firing 50% or more from the field. His game-high record this season was a 35 points score fest, including six three-pointers, during a win over the Takamatsu Five Arrows earlier this month.
